The VSC and TRAC OFF lights get on and off also once a while the ABS system activates without reason for a few secons while driving and get back to normal. Every timr this happens the VSC and TRAC OFF light stay on until I turn off the truck. Next time I start the truck lights are off. I have a 2001 sequoia with TRAC OFF, VSC OFF lights on. This started after changing the steering column. How could I fix it? On another note, this car parking brake has NEVER hold and that caused the shifting gear to break prompting me to have to change the whole column. Any Advise? JC
I did research on line and all indicates that is caused by the YAW RATE SENSOR. It nedds to be replace and adjust. I have the same problem but havent find the time to get to it. When I do I will post it. If you do it before I do please email me with the result at [email protected]
Good luck
The parking brakes are notorious for not holding. Even with adjustment, they won't operate for long. I was going to change the pads, but the limited access makes it a difficult job. I always canter the wheels into the curb. as not to bear the vehicle weight on the PARK position of the trans. as a "quick" fix.

it;s 7/12/13 and my 01 sequoia is 49,985 miles, I am the only owner and extreme care with it, just short of of 50 thoothands miles and all kind of sensors are coming on. The air bag sensor came on but i called toyota and they told me to disconnect the negative lead battery connection and may that woul correct theproblem it does but after a few miles it comes on again,,, is that a real problem???. Now I am getting the track off and vcs light on plus having the sequoia veer to the right when this whappens, If you are not extremely responsive , reallly you could have an accident. Any one having this problem? All the operating manual says it the break system will continue workinh properly call the dealer. Let me hear you experience on this issue. thank folks, NLR
