Passenger side wiperblade arm not moving, driver's side working fine.

you need to check to make sure the "arm" is moving , some gm vehilce have a sealed wiper unit, but the alero should still have arms. turn wipers on and look down at the cowl vent and see if it appears to move. if it is the mounting post for the arm on the passenger side has PROBABLY stripped out the soft lead mount at the bottom of the wiper arm. make sure the wipers are "parked", then carefully try to wiggle the pass side back and forth (its normal motion...). if it moves you will need to pop the arm off(super careful here..) and the post that looks smooth must be cleaned out with a fine pick or equilalent, the post accually has splines all around to engage the wiper arm. put on the new arm.. presto.... wipers.

Windshield wipers keep hitting each other. Driver side wont go all the way up. I replaced the Wiper transmission assy. but that did not fix the problem. Motor spins all the way around.

So why was the trans replaced the first time. The arm on the motor is supposed to go around. If the wiper arms are installed correctly, all should be OK. Is there any slop in the linkage?

I have a 2002 olds alero my wipers turn on but will not shut off until I turn the car off. How do I fix?

Sounds like the wiper relay is on the fritz. Get the manual out and find the wiring diagram/ fuse box and replace the relay, this should fix the problem.

Recently on my 2001 Alero my wipers have been acting funny - they will continue wiping 3 - 6 times after being turned off, they don't move smoothly across the glass when on pulse setting,(they jump and...

The most likely cause is the wiper module not the switch. It is under the wiper cowl below the wind shield on the driver side. Water can get inside the module and screw up the electronics. Use a good sealer on the edges of the cover when replacing the module.

How to replace windshield wiper motor in oldsmobile alero

should be fairly simple. mark the wipers position while they are off for reinstallation. remove the wiper arms by taking the nuts off the bottom side, and gently pry up on them and work them loose. with the hood up, remove the wiper cowl (plastic that runs along the bottom of the windshield). the wiper motor will be on the drivers side. the wiper linkage usually either bolts on directly to the motor shaft with one bolt. take that bolt/nut off, remove the mounting bolts on the motor itself, unplug the motor and remove. to install reverse process and put wiper arms back to the position you marked them.
