Can't find the fuse box under the driver's side dash on my 2000 suzuki grand vitara. my radio/clock not working and dome light does not come on when the driver's side door is opened.
Its below the Dashboard, on the left side of your knee. You have to use a torch & locate it from under the Dashboard, Its roughly near to the Clutch Pedal.
Here, it looks like this:
(The Black one is the Fuse box)
If it's in the same spot as my XL-7 then you'll need a flashlight and u will have to get your head under the driver's side dashboard area. Look above the accelerator on the right hand side kick panel area.
You should see some relays at the lower part and then a large black plastic cover- the fuses are under there.
I have the same problems with my interior lights and head unit not working in my 2000 vitara. My problem however is not the fuses because there are certain random times when the above electronics DO work, then they will shut off for no reason. I am guessing a wiring problem in my case, which will have to wait to be fixed until I can save more money. I hope for your sake its just the fuse!!
The fusebox is pretty much directly under the steering wheel, under the whole dashboard piece.
Assories socket at rear stopped working everything ealse ok.

i finally broke down and took mine to a mechanic. my problem they think is a short in my cigarette lighter. i can replace the fuse and drive it for several days or even a couple of weeks, then all of a sudden my clock and radio aren't working again. as for the interior lights, the interior lights come on when the passenger side doors are opened but not the driver's side. the mechanic showed me how to wiggle the little catch thing there where the door closes and it works intermittently. this is an inexpensive fix, $35.00 for each door for the part. sorry i can't remember what the part is called but any mechanic should be able to tell you. hope this helps.
thanks, i finally found the fuse box and replaced the fuse my owners manual said controlled the clock and radio, the one under the hood, and it still didn't work. took it to a mechanic and he got up under the dashboard and replaced the fuse. the fuse under the dashboard is a much larger fuse than the one under the hood. anyway, works for a while then the same thing all over again. now he thinks it's a short in my cigarette lighter. we'll see how long it lasts when i get it fixed this time.
