2003 Mitsubishi Lancer horn not honking

My horn doesn't honk at all. I was wondering if it might be something other than the clockspring. Any suggestions?

Check all the wiring in the stearing wheel. Cover should screw off from the back side. Make sure the horn is hooked up. Should be in the front bumper. If it still dont work then buy a new one. Should run about fiftenn bucks.

Usually when the horn doesn't honk it's a blown fuse

try running the ODB sensor on it... it should tell you the code...

then you can look the code up and it should tell you the problems...

Usually AutoZone or Advanced Discount Auto will do this for free for you :)

Horn on 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer is possessed!

the problem will be a short in the horn connection under the steering wheel
probably the horn wire is shorting out when you turn the wheel
the fix is to pull the steering wheel and fix the problem

Horn honks itself

the horn is live and the switch grounds the connection to make it work. Sounds like your boss is grounding.

The horn in my 1999 dodge stratus keeps honking

the reason it is doing that is either the pad on the steering wheel is shorting as if you are pressing on it, or the clockspring under the steering wheel is shorting to ground. there is a horn relay in your fusebox inside the cabin; you could disable it there by pulling out the relay. don't pull the fuse because it carries other circuits as well. I couldn't find the exact relay position, but just feel them with your finger while someone honks the horn; the one that's clicking with the horn activation is the one to pull out. I can get you the layout of the fusebox but you really don't need it for that.

My horn was replaced on my 2006 kia sedona and sometimes it wont honk and sometimes it will

I pulled the center out of the steering wheel and grounded the horn contact. The horn honked like it should. This is on our 2006 KIA Sedona. The horn used to work once in awhile, but not at all now. This leads me to believe that the clockspring in the steering column is defective. I will call the dealer on Monday to see if there is a warranty fix, but I doubt that there is.

Could be the horn or the relay.

This is a clockspring issue that you should repair. If the clockspring is honking the horn, it may next inflate the airbag. You don't want that to happen!

97 Jetta GLS - Horn honks when I turn the wheel to the left

sounds like there is something in the wrong place in the horn button. it makes contact when you turn left just as if you had pushed the horn button. i wonder does your airbag light ever come on, i mean not just in the startup sequence, that's normal. probably you need to take the horn button part of the steering wheel apart and get things back in the right place or maybe replace some parts, but because of the airbag being right there too it's not something i would recommend that you do yourself. accidentally setting off an airbag is not a good thing.
