Car wont start anti theft device activated on chev. equinox 2006

The system may be activating because there is not enough power in the battery?
Check the batter connections and power cables.
Are the posts clean and tight.
Are the cables going to the battery, alternator and starter in good condition. Check to see if the insulation on the cables have not worn away some ware along the cables and shorting out.

Have a load test done on the battery as you may have a dead cell which will cause your faults.

The 2005 equinox is equipped with GM passlock anti theft security. By replacing the ignition you have broken the communication for this system. Your vehicle will never start again until you fix that properly. There is a way to bypass that system so it will work. I've done dozens of these bypasses and they work great. IF THAT PROCEDURE DONT WORK.INSERT MASTER KEY INTO IGNITION SWITCH.NOW SWITCH IGNITION ON SWITCH IGNITION OFF.REMOVE MASTER KEY.WITHIN 10 SECONDS INSERT NEW KEY.SWITCH IGNITION ON.ENSURE SYSTEM WARNING LAMP SWITCHES OFF.NEW KEY NOW PROGRAMMED.IF YOU STILL HAVING PROBLEM RESETING THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO FIX.REPROGRAM IT.

TRY REPROGRAM KEY .PUT KEY IN IGNITION SWITCH TURN IGNITION SWITCH ON POSITION 20 SECONDS DONT START ENGINE WAIT 20 SECONDS TURN OFF SWITCH THEN TURN SWITCH BACK ON 20 SECONDS WATCH THE THEFT SECURITY LIGHT BLINKING.WHEN THEFT STOP BLINKING VECHICLE WILL CRANK.IF LIGHT STILL BLINKING.TRY FEW MORE TIMES KEY IN SWITCH ON POSITION FOR 20 SECONDS.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT CAR KEYS IN SWITCH IF NOT WRONG SET OF CAR KEYS WILL SET OFF THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM.IF KEY RESETTING TRICK DONT WORK.CHECK BATTERY POWER MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY HAS 12.5 VOLTS AND CHECK SECURITY THEFT FUSE.IF ALL LOOKS GOOD YOUR SECURITY HAS TO BE CHECKED OUT AT THE DEALERSHIP.

Make sure the doors and trunk,and hood are shut,open them,and shut them .activate the anti theft,wait about 1 minute,and disarm it,see if it will start,if not,the key fob may need to be relearned,try turning the key on,leave it ten minutes,then turn it off,and right back on,then wait ten minutes,and turn it off,and right back on,do this a total of three times,,30 minutes,then try and start.

You will have to have the Vehicle Theft reprogrammed at your local dealership. I run into this problem from time to time at my dealership.
