2005 impala 3.4 EGR & TPS

Yes, it is possible to clean both the EGR and TPS. Depending on the type of TPS, you may need to drive it to learn the correct idle position. Typically, carbon buildup can occur during short drives due to incomplete fuel combustion. It is recommended to have an oil change every 2-3 years or after every 2,000-2200 miles. It is also recommended to use top-tier products to get the best performance out of your car. As for the engine mount, it should not take 1.5 hours to change, so you may want to look elsewhere for a better price.

I have a 1990 ford arostar it has a littel back fire I have change.the spark plugs n wires even the fuel filter n it still has it I put it on the scanner n it say the tps is bad but the guy told me I...

Changing the TPS is not a big deal. There are 2 attaching bolts or screws and 1 electric connector. The only trick to it is to match the surfaces of the TPS with the shaft it rides on. There may be slots on one part or the other and the 2 parts need to fit together before tioghtening.

You will know more about the computer after you do the TPS. You can get the computer cleared and system checks for free at Autozone, Oreillys, or Advance autoparts. Its a good idea to double check with an expensive part at stake as the test wires can be worn out and give false readings.

2004 saturn Ion-Oil is 5W-30?

Most manufacturers went to 5w30 viscosity oil for mileage gains. I myself would consider a 5w30 synthetic oil to further increase change intervals and protection. A potential milelage gain is a positive side benefit.

Have been told the TPS is bad. NOw the car will

This can be the problem. The TPS is the part that replaces the Carburetor throttle. The TPS also regulates the spark and the timing advance.

This is a very easy part to replace. The part is on the drivers side of the engine behind the plastic ductwork from the airfilter. The TPS attaches to the metal hornshaped part. It has 2 screws and 1 electric connector.
The TPS is about the size of a Butane lighter.

If you go to Autozone or Oreillys they will scan you engine for free. They can verify your problem. After you fix your car you can return to Autozone and get your computer reset to remove the "Check Engine" light if it is on. Or you can remove a battery cable for 10 minutes and the warning will go away.

The TPS screws are on tight and you may need a pair of pliers to grip the screwdriver to turn it. But there is only a groove under the TPS to match up with a mating part on the Airhorn. Its about a 20 minute job to remove and replace. With Autozone or Oreillys scanning your car, you won't have to buy unneccessary parts.

Turn signal right side does not work on 2005 saturn Ion quad coupe. replaced bulbs but no fix, it blinks fast like the bulb is bad. What else could cause this, no fuses for trun signals. Bulb lights up for...

I think you may suspect the hazard (4 way flasher) switch at this moment. The indicator wiring goes thru the Haz switch as standard because of the system requirments. Either a loose plug connector or improper reset hazard on / off position at switch. Good luck

Saturn ion fuel pump

Misnikie32 . .. I just had the same problem around the time you figured out your problem and I just got it fixed yesterday. For almost 3 weeks I had starting problems and I constantly smelled gas. The problem is a safety issue and the car needs to be recalled. The hose that is connected to the fuel pump is cracked. Since the hose is incorporated with the fuel pump, the entire mechanism needs to be changed. Look at spending about 700.00 . I informed saturn and told them my life was at danger. Please contact them on their website and goto your state's attorney general and launch a complaint, as well as the office of defective investigations and the NTSAB (google them). This needs to be brought to their attention and all owners of this car. I googled this and many other people are having this problem. Some are even on this forum. PLEASE DO THIS ! ! ! !
