Low Coolant light always on put new coolant in and it disappears

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo there had been a recall on the cooling fan and relay and that has since been replaced twice. Now my coolant low light goes on all the time. I put new coolant in the reserve but after a few miles it is all gone and not on the ground. I hear a swishing side from under the passenger side dashboard that sounds like fluid but the floor is not wet. I have had the water pump replaced and new radiator. recently the oil gauge goes high and then low had an oil change still the same problem. The tempature gauge now goes hot but the engine is not hot or steaming and then all of  a sudden it is fine again. WHERE IS THE COOLANT GOING and why are the gauges going crazy. I have also replaced thermostate. Don't knowwhat else to do.

Where the coolant is going and why the gauges go nuts are probably not the same problem. sounds like your gauges have a problem with the ground side connection to power. you could look at the negative battery post and see if it is really gunked up, might as well check the positive side while you are looking. if the battery posts get oxidized pretty much everything gets a not so great connection but gauges are one of few places you notice it. the car only runs off the battery at startup or if momentarily car is using more amperage than alternator can provide, but current runs through battery from alternator so bad connection there will cause whole system to function less than optimum. in the cooling system one component you don't mention replacing is the heater core. you say the coolant is not on the ground, so where can it be? pull your oil dipstick and see if your oil looks like oil. if it looks like vaseline, kinda white and creamy, you just figured out where your coolant went and you have a blown head gasket. hope that's not it, it's sort of a hassle. there aren't too many other places for the coolant to go. it either runs on the ground, boils off against the hot block, like if it comes out near an exhaust manifold (and that makes quite an odor) or gets into the oil through blown head gasket. it can make it into the passenger compartment through a leaky heater core and if that happens you will smell a sort of sweet smell in the car and after while get a green cast to condensation inside windows. hope that helps.

Another possibility is that you need a new radiator cap. I fthat is not sealing properly, it can allow the coolant to boil, and if the leak is not big, you might not notice the slow loss of coolant through boiling/evaporation.

I have had my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
sitting in the garage for the past two months already and all to a blown head gasket. How? The same thing happened to me with the low coolant light coming up, then the temperature gauge started going up then down. I also replaced the thermostat and a week later I had to keep adding coolant, and then I checked the oil to find it milky......now I need to replace the engine because just fixing the head gasket doesn't guarantee me it won't happen again.

How do i burp the coolant system on a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo 6 cylinder

When the engine is cool open the Radiator Cap and make sure it is filled to the top with Coolant. From there locate the Coolant Reservoir and make sure it is filled to the level marked on the side of the container. Now this is where the confusion comes as "burping" the cooling system comes from decades ago and is not necessary now. When the Cooling System is properly filled the system will purge its self when it runs and shuts down. The important part is run the engine to completely make the nominal operating temperature and when it cools the Coolant will move around. This is where most people open the Radiator Cap to check which introduces more Air into the system. Do not open the Radiator but rather check the Reservoir which you should see actually lost Coolant is it gut sucked into the Radiator thus topping off the system.

So, my 2001 V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is very slowly leaking coolant. I replaced the heater core in 2009 and the symptoms that the Jeep expressed then are not happening now. However, the low coolant...

are you mixing the coolant with water if yes,you need to just put straight up anti freeze ,because water evaporates at high temperatures .. also keep resorvoir full at all times there is a sensor in the tank that when is low it makes the check coolant light come on ,,....good luck

Coolant sensor keeps saying bad would that cause it to over heat jeep laredo 97 grand cherokee

Yes, cause that sensor operates the electric cooling fans by the radiator, if those fans or fan don't come on, the radiator can't cool down as quick and causes the engine to run hotter.

I have a 2003 jeep laredo grand cherokee and cant figure out how to reset the 'needs coolant' light? it keeps beeping at me

Once you add coolant it will shut it self off unless the float is sticking or there is an electrical fault in the wiring or BCM.

Coolant fan not turning and air conditioner blows out hot air.

Re-check the relay to make sure it's still good, then check the fan by hot wiring it to the battery. Also check the temp sensor on the engine. If the check light is on, don't drive it 'till you find out why or you can damage the engine.

2000 JEEP GRAND CHAROKEE LAREDO OVERHEATS WITH NEW RADIATOR AND FAN..HOW DO I FIX THAT?

You may either have a bad thermostat or a bad fan relay. If the fan is not turning on at all then the relay is bad. If there is not any heat coming through the heater then your heater core is plugged. That would also cause an overheating problem as well. To rule out a bad relay check to see if you are getting 12 volts at the fan connection. If not change relay.

My 2000 jeep grand cherokee is overheating when i drive less than one mile and the coolant light is going off. i replaced the thermostat and checked the coolant level (which is fine) but it is still...

replace your cooling fan motor relay because if you dont eventually your radiator will explode and this will cause your engine block to crack and then if your fan isn't blowing the engine will continue to overheat and the engine will seize and then you need a new engine. A cooling fan motor relay is around $30.

2000 grand cherokee i can hear water gushing from the heater core, i had to always top up my coolant in the rad. coolant reservor does not go low at all but, loosing coolant from the rad.

Replace the radiator cap. If it is working properly it will pull coolant from the bottle, if it isn't pulling coolant then it isn't holding pressure and leaking. The gushing water sound is a sign of low coolant.
