Sedan, Coupe or Wagon ? Junction Block is under the hood at the front of the left inside fender area. Fuse Block inside of car is to the left of the steering column under the dash. This is on the SL with 1.9 SOHC Sedan

turn it over voila' directions to the fuses..
yes their is a reverse lamp switch on the trans. vary common to go bad. it is located below air intake tube. good luck i would bet that will fix your problem.
The 1997 SL2 has a fuse for the cigarette lighter in a panel that is next to where the left foot of a passenger would be. The panel just pops off - held on by velcro.
