2002 Porsche Carrera Convertible driver's side power door window is not working properly...the passenger side is working properly. When pulling the door handle there is a electronic switch that allows the window to roll down approximately 1/4 inch to clear the convertible plastic frame when opening. Upon closing the door the window automatically raises 1/4 inch for a tight seal. The electronic switch is working fine, but the window does not move up or down. The normal automatic window button for full open or close is operating correctly. However, when the glass nears the bottom of the down cycle there is a noticble 'clunk' sound...almost like it is free falling or popping?? Help
Right, its one of the following:
micro sensor in outside handle.
micro switch in inside handle.
micro switch inside lock mechinisum (needs new lock).
electric window control motor (even tho window works fine)
BUT, i think your problem could be a stretched window cable...... to test this do window up fully with door open. now push fairly hard pressure downwards on window as if to push it down manually, if window drops your 1/4 inch then bingo. if not, it was a good test that cost nothing.
i replaced all the above but mine ended up being a wiring problem where the wire loom goes from door to car. talk about find out the expensive way.
Get it to the dealer asap.
you definitely need to take apart the door. There's something not right inside.

WHEN I USE THE ROCKER SWITCH IN SIDE THE WINDOW WILL GO UP 1/2 WAY BUT IF I USE THE KEY IN THE DOOR IT WILL GO UP ALL THE WAY. HOW DO YOU GET THEM ALL THE WAY UP WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING?
Electronic hatch opened fine, but will not pull down to lock properly. The motor worked to open, but now doesn't work. Suspect electronics are a relay, reversal switch and striker sensing switch.
