My speedometer will work every now and then but most the time it will read all the way up to 120 mph or stay at the wrong speed its not the speedometer or the dashboard cluster that's been checked out its a 2007 Pontiac Torrent FWD 5 speed transmission and it runs great. What do you think it could be?

Sounds like the speedometer is faulty. If the speed sensor were the problem, the odometer would not work correctly, the transmission would not shift correctly, and the check engine light would be on.

How to fix a speedometer cable
Well you know it does not have a speedo cable since you replaced the speed sensor in the transmission.
My guess would be a problem with the speedo or cluster.

It appears that you need to have the speedometer calibrated. Unfortunately, this is very challenging. You'll need to take it to a mechanic. Dependent on where you take your Envoy it can cost around $75+

check your speedometer cable it runs from your transmission to your speedometer it is what determines your speed if that cable is loose from your tanny then push it back in i hope this helps

2003 Camry Speedometer reads 150 mph constantly.
i would disconnect the battery again let it sit for 15 minutes, i changed an alternator and jumped the car then started driving and that happened to me, 20 minutes of driving and the computer finally kicked in and started working again. good luck
