I HAVE CHANGED PLUGS CHECKED FUSES PUT NEW COIL PKS PUT NEW CAM SHAFT POST SENSOR CKED FUEL PUMP STARTER CHECKED SOME WIRIEIN STILL WONT START
Knowing GMs in those years, i'd check the CRANKshaft position sensor and the damper pulley/sensor wheel assembly way before the cam shaft sensors, as they had some probs with that for a while (late 80s and up usually), and second i'd check the IAC (idle air control) located on the throttle body. It looks like an electric motor and only has 2 torx screws holding it there. It controls the amount of air that goes into the engine at idle, and more or less closes up when you press the gas, and they were known to get dirty and jammed real fast on GMs, cause all kinds of great problems. Like on my 1990 Chevy Cavalier, when it jammed it either sputtered and died immediatly, or started to rev up to around 3k-3.5k RPM, often both sputtering and revving like crazy, and being automatic i had to hold the gas and brake on stop signs and red light to keep it stable and keep it from moving.

There is a recall on this model for problems with the Engine Control Module/Coil Pack. This causes the engine to not start. Take it to the nearest Saturn dealer and get it repaired free of charge. This problem can eventually burn up your catyletic converter which will lead to much more costly repairs. There are actually 3 recalls on this vehicle. Take it to the dealer and get it taken care of. It will be like driving a new car once the repairs have been made!

Try pulling the engine coolant temp sensor, They often crack not sure why but the ceramic tip cracks makes the car hard to start, or won't start, the car's idle may race while shifting gears, and often smokes. The sensor is on the right side of the engine when looking at it on the head. Easy to change and get too

try cranking engine while holding gas pedal to the floor, this turns off the fuel injectors to clear excess fuel from cyls. eng my just be flooded. may need to crank for a long time. if engine starts do not let off gas until you are sure eng will run on its own.
