2 of my windows work intermidently and the other 2 do not work at all
Dont know, but im having the same problem. my pass. side front wont work, and the driver rear wont work. its a 2005 ion 2 i suspect its the motors in both of them. i will let you know in a day or two, as soon as i check the parts yard to get a couple.
Your main window switch has failed internally
I'm not sure if this will get to you in time. I spent the last five hours replacing the window regulator in my 2005 Saturn Ion. The rear driver side door switch still didnt work. Fuses were good. I tried switching the actual switch with the other side. This lead to another issue: the passenger rear door had the same issue. I decided to locate the power window fuse. I also noticed there was a power window relay. I pulled both out and put them back. This corrected the issue. For some reason the computer chip recognizes a fault with the switch. You have to pull the power window relay out to reset the chip. I hope this helps other people as well.
