Cant find keyhole or switch to turn my airbags off in my mazda 6

it wont show active since you will be disconnecting the wiring

It is not always possible to disable the passenger airbag and details will be found in the vehicle handbook. If the facility exists there will be a key switch in the centre console or dashboard and the ignition key is used to switch it off.

It is reckoned there is only one reason to disable the passenger airbag and that is when a baby seat or cradle is used on the front passenger seat. If the airbag cannot be disabled the baby must go onto the rear seat.

7 flashes usually means passenger seat airbag problem. Try jiggling the sensor connectors under the seat.

bottom of the center consol should have a light.

This is a perfect and cheap solution if you dont want to spend about 1000€ in the garage.

The passenger airbag is what is called a smart generation airbag, there is a sensor in the passenger seat that tells the airbag control module to turn off the bag if the weight is less than 50 pounds in the paswsenger seat, i.e. a child, I work for Ford and we will not turn off or tamper with or disconnect the airbag, why? if you get in a wreck and are hurt because we disconnected or otherwise defeated the airbag we would be liable for damages and a lawsuit.

Well, for one you not suppose to put a baby seat in the front of the car. But anyways with an older airbag control system like that you cannot just disable one airbag, if you unplug the passenger side airbag then in an accident neither airbags will deploy.

The drivers side airbag is always on no matter what, the passenger side airbag switch may be in the glove compartment, maybe get a chilton manual from the auto parts store to find it, or passenger side may just be on permanently, you may not have a choice. Call and ask too talk tor a mechanic at your local Ford dealership if all else fails.
