While driving i can hear a poping clanking noise on the front drivers side..sounds like its coming from somewhere around the tire

Is the noise mostly while turning and lightly accelerating? Does noise sound like your driving over like crushed rock or small rocks? If so, you more then likely need a "C/V SHAFT", (D/V=constant velocity). If the noise is "clangy" or metal tinny like, you may have a bent backing plate behind the rotor. Most places check the "C/V Shaft Boots" when oil is changed. If not change where you get oil changed. With car up on a hoist, look at 'boot' right nest to wheel, if boot (accordian looking rubber) usually opens on inner groove and grease leaks(spins) out exposing the (Mezzepa) bearing, dirt gets in and you hear dirt grinding in the bearing joints when you turn.
