Does this have a heater hose that goes in under the tbi unit..there may be a leak there as well.. any hairline craks anywhere..is the block surface free of any old gasket material that interferes with the replacement gaskets sealing? does the head have any missing freeze plugs in it that are under the valve assembly?..some do have freeze plugs in them up there..

The problem will probably be corrosion holes behind the water pump impellor. The water passes into the sump from these holes.

just an additional thought ,It is gooh practice to clean out the head stud holes with an air gun and then run a thread down the holes to remove any rust in the threads that will give a false tension reading. You will gat a hydraulic lock at the bottom of the holes from coolant and gunk getting into the holes and the head will not be tensioned correctly.

hi there.
Water in the engine - Water can get into your oil sump in two ways: ... Water in the oil- Coolant leak due to non-watertight seal (cylinder head gasket, etc.). If this happens, there is a leak and water is getting into the oil.
Water in engine oil
If you found water in oil car , this water engine car section is for you!
Water in car engine? Water should never be allowed to get into the oil in your engine or gearbox. Otherwise, it will result in significant foaming, dramatically reducing the product's lubrication properties.
Water in the engine - Water can get into your oil sump in two ways:
  • Water in car - Water condensation in cold air or combustion gases: this phenomenon is extremely rare and only occurs at specific temperatures.
  • Water in the oil - Coolant leak due to non-watertight seal (cylinder head gasket, etc.). If this happens, there is a leak and water is getting into the oil.
Water in motor oil can cause serious damage to your engine - the oil will be denatured and no longer effectively cooled.

My car keep blowing white smoke them randomly stopping sometimes no smoke and my coolaint is always low down

If youre wondering about a blown head gasket or cracked head, smell your exhaust. If it smells like anti freeze then youre right. If not, you have a coolant leak and your car is burning oil from one reason or another. Check your oil also. Usually when head gasket goes bad you will get water in the oil. The oil will start getting creamy after a while....if it looks like it has water in it, it probably does.

Can you blow a head gasket and not get any water in oil .what should cyclinder read on compression test

I can give you part of your answer: yes you can blow a head gasket and not get water in the oil. The pressure can leak in to the coolant system.

I'm not sure what the pressure should be on your car but the difference shouldn't be very much.

Hello, I have a 2001 ford mustang gt. At times when I first start it up some white smoke is coming out of both exhaust pipes. I took it to my mechanic and he said it it probably oil getting in the...

usually:
white smoke is coolant leaking into the combustion chamber

blue-ish smoke is oil in the combustion chamber

black smoke is excessive fuel (running rich)

If it is white smoke, pull the oil dipstick and check to make sure your not getting coolant in your oil.
If thats okay check the compression on each cylinder to make sure your head gasket isn't leaking.

if your car is burning oil, you may need to replace your PCV valve(about $5).
As far as oil additives, try RESTORE

Just replaced head gaskets in my 1995 4.3 and still has big clouds of white smoke while driving. No oil in water and no water in oil. What would cause this?

It could take some time to burn the old coolant out of the exhaust system.
If the head was not sent out to be inspected and pressure tested most likely you have a crack in the head.
If the head was sent out then you could have a crack in the block.

1991 Jaguar XJ6 Soverign 4.0 Water in the engine oil

Get engine warm and do a compression test. This easily eliminates head gasket. Head gasket is a biggish job and time wasted if it is not the problem. Part throttle breather unlikely as this is a vacuum applied to the cam cover, so water is unlikely to get in there as the air is coming out of the engine. But, if water is in the inlet manifold, could it be the inlet manifold to head gasket? I can't remember for sure, but I think this is water heated? If so, that is probably your culprit. If not, it sounds like a top end water leak and unlikely to be head gasket, head gasket leaks nearly always show up as steam out of the exhaust - "white smoke". Hope this helps.

1993 TOYOTA TERCEL 1500cc Valve Seals Replaced now smokes much worse

You either have had the wrong valve seals installed, they are physically missing, or the valves are incorrect (too loose in the guides/stem too thin). The rocker arm seals will not contribute to your issue. If it did not have the oil smoke before you took the head off, the issue is with whatever the machine shop did. Valve seals have to fit TIGHT, or oil will go down the valve stem into the intake.
Take the head back to the machine shop & tell them to fix it. For free.
