When I acelerate my car wants to choke

When I start to drive my car it start to choke so I put down the acelerate pedal more. the car try to run but it would choke again for a few times.after that it would run well until i came to a stop it starts the the same problem again. when i was back at the house i left in parking position and it would try to turn off all the time. i thought it was a gas problem so i unpluged a fuel injector connector and it was back to normal. at the rear you hear popping sounds. also in the front when i am driveing i can hear booming sounds in the criuser control.

I HAVE PERSONALLY CHANGED A FEW THROTTLE POSITON SENSORS IN THESE VEHICLES. BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT, TRY SPRAYING SOME CARB AND CHOKE SPRAY IN THE THROTTLE BODY WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING. YOU MAY HAVE TO HOLD IT AT A HIGH IDLE SO IT DOESN'T DIE ON YOU. THIS SHOULD HELP TO REMOVE THE CARBON IN THE THROTTLE BODY. IF IT STILL WANTS TO CHOKE, THEN CHANGE THE T.P.S. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

1988 22r pickup have to pump the gas now before starting 15 to 20 times. i didnt use to have to pump the gas before every start if it sits more than 10 hours it wont start unless i start pumping the gas...

Seems like the choke is not turning on. The 22r uses a carb if I'm not mistaken. pump it a couple of times then try pressing the pedal completely down before trying to start it. Then press the pedal half way down. the point is to set the choke when you press the pedal all the way down.

Only in morning i need to put gas in carb to start it and its geat for the rest of the day very little gas and fast to start

I would check the choke to see if it is close if not try ajusting it by losening the three screws on the right side of carb (passenger side car not running) hold acelerator left side open slitely turn black part of choke to the left till choke just closes release acelerato tighten the three scews if all that is ok check to see if by pressing acelerator with choke open if you see gas squirting (car not running)

Have to push gas pedal to the floor for car to start. its an 89 gt mustang with the 5.0l. after it starts it runs fine, sometimes the engine light comes on when i get on it real hard. but there are no hard...

This would indicate a problem with the automatic choke. Putting the pedal to the floor creates the same effect as the choke when starting the car.

2001 mercedes c240 has a really rough start but when the car almost dies I turn the car off wait 3 seconds and it starts perfect. Next comes the issue with having to warm it up before driving anywhere...

Gasoline- thank you. Warm up is not an issue like diesel is. Sounds like the choke is is either wide open or over choking. With the engine cold, remove the air cleaner and note where the plate is at the opening of the carb. If it is wide open then without touching anything else and engine not running, step down on the gas pedal and see if the choke plate reset itself to restricter the carb inlet. If it didn't, then take some WD 40 and spray the linkages and the rod ends holdin the choke plate.By hand work the plate and linkage holding the gas open at the carb. Then set the plate to wide open and do the gas pedal thing agan to see if choke sets itself back to restricting the carb intake. If it does, start the engine and as the engine warms upm the choke plate should start opening on its own and you are off and running. Roitine question. Is your air cleaner clean? If the choke plate needs adjusting. get back to me. K? Good luck Remember to press the gas pedal down once before cranking. That sets the choke for cold start. Hope this helped you Good luck Note, the WD40 won't hurt anything but avoid spraying with engine running or when engine is hot..

Service engine soon light flashing on acceleration

It sounds like u got a coil pack going out. Alot of times when your engine is cold or when you arn't putting a load on it the coils won't fail. How ever when the engine reaches operating temperatures and there is load on the coils that is when they are going to break down. my advice would be to get a scanner and see what cylinder the missfire is at then swwap that coil to another cylinder to verify that the coil is defective. If it is purchase another with a new spark plug put it in and let it rip.

I have a 300 tdi discovery 1996 with automatic gearbox. As I drive on the flat the car runs fine. when i try to go up any hill or really put my foot down the engine seems to choke itself up and warning...

check your motor mounts, do this by opening the hood and pushing the car back and letting it rock, if the motor moves more than an inch either way, your motor mounts are bad.

Wont start unless i put the gas pedal down

too many possibilities without more info..check that carb linkage ok and choke is not stuck...check timing (does it have a labored pattern to cranking rhythm)...one plug/wire or other section of secondary ignition (cap/rotor) could be bad or weak
