SOURCE: Ford Focus 2006 model airbag deactivation

Children in car seats should never be put in the front seat.  In fact children under the age of 13 should never be in the front seat.  Their bodies are not large enough or strong enough to sustain the impact of a crash or an airbag.  For your baby's safety and your peace of mind it'd be best for you to keep your baby in the rear seat and get a mirror for the back seat to see what's going on.

SOURCE: can i switch of the passenger airbag in my 2003 ford focus?

The passenger airbag is what is called a smart generation airbag, there is a sensor in the passenger seat that tells the airbag control module to turn off the bag if the weight is less than 50 pounds in the paswsenger seat, i.e. a child, I work for Ford and we will not turn off or tamper with or disconnect the airbag, why? if you get in a wreck and are hurt because we disconnected or otherwise defeated the airbag we would be liable for damages and a lawsuit.

SOURCE: how do i turn off my passenger airbag

You need to leave this one to the dealer as there is no key switch in this model like most GMs have. It is very dangerous working with the airbag system if you are not trained as the propellants used border on being explosive.

Beyond this, it is still a bad idea to put the baby in front unless absolutely necessary as the rear seat provides better protection.

SOURCE: how to disarm passenger airbag

I am pretty sure for your vehicle there is no manual way to shut it off. There is a sensor in the seat the will weigh the passenger and at a low weight it will automotically disarm it. After you start your vehicle look at the top of the instrument panel center stack area below the hazard warning indicator and above the radio and you should see the "icon" that the Pass airbag is off (see picture of what ir looks like below). I hope this helped and good luck. Baby's are great but expensive and take it from me they never get cheaper. First a car then college.....It never stops......But ya gotta love them.

How do i turn off pasanger front air bag mondao 06

This car has a "Smart" Airbag system control module, if the passenger is not over 50 pounds then the system senses that and the airbag is turned off automatically. So you can't turn it off.

Airbags

If your Focus is a new model the passenger side airbag has a sensor that in effect weighs what is in the passenger seat, and will turn itself off if the weight is below a min, you will see an indicator lite up on the dash indicating this. If your Focus does not have this smart system then I recomment that you not tamper in any way with the passive restraint air bag system, to do so could cause grave personnel injury. Consault your local Ford dealer over the phone they will help.
