My 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport wont start!!

When I try to start it, it doesnt fire. I replaced the alternator and the spark plugs. I went to a parts store and they said it could be the crankshaft sensor so i replaced it also but still it doesnt start. Do you have any ideas? Could there be something wrong with the PCM?

Are you sure that the engine is not getting spark ? Have you checked the fuel pressure ? Are there any other symptoms ? I will check back on the 14th. Moe

I want to install fire ring spark plug cables on a 97 jeep wrangler 97, 4.0. I want to know in what order the cables go

Replace each wire individually from plug to distributor one at a time and they will be in the right order. Or make yourself a diagram before you start, very carefully marking the first one you take off the distributor and where it came from and where it goes. Hope this helps..

I had the same problem with my 1997 Wrangler. I seem to of solved this by turning the ignition to off then depressing the lock on the immobilizer. Then waited for about 10-15 seconds after the red light on the dash quit blinking fast . Then I hit the unlock on the immobilizer and the Jeep started and ran ok. I guess the immobilizer is the culprit and it doesn't unlock initially

Jeep wrangler Fuse box

You have two locations for the fuse box. One is either under the hood or behind the glove box. I would pull apart the glove box and take a look.

Try your camshaft possition sensor. If it is the same as my problem I just had to replace that and it started right up. Oh and mine was built into the distributer assembly. Take off cap and pin it's the plastic thing at the bottom. Should just pop out and you have to go to the dealer to get the part. Hopefully this helps!
