Gas or compression. Check the injector circuit on 1 and 3. Are they pulsing, to put gas in the cylinders? Do a compression test to rule out loss of compression as cause for the misfire.
Kind of odd it would be 1 and 3, but that is one right after the other in the firing order of 1-3-4-2...so, you have a single coil? So you have a distributor-examine closely the distributor cap and rotor if those were not changed too, with the plugs and wires. Look for damage, little black tracks that indicate shorting of the spark, maybe damage at the electrode tips on the inside of cap on 1 and 3 plug wire towers. Most people change the cap and rotor when doing the plugs and plug wires.
Just a possibility also, that the injector ground wires for 1 and 3 might share the same ground. That is to say, they might splice together before going to the computer where the computer internally grounds injector circuits to cause pulsing. Well, those are my thoughts, good luck. And let me know what you find, always interested.

SOURCE: Recurring #2 cylinder misfire.

Hello Mr Fixit...If memory serves me right, the PO352 B fault code would indicate #4 cylinder coil and PO352 A for #3. The
Possible causes ...faulty spark plug...faulty spark plug wire..faulty ignition coil pack..faulty PCM...open or short in wiring from PCM to iginition coil pack. To accurately troubleshoot and determine the problem you will need an oscilliscope and a diagnostic scanner. Without these you are basically guessing as to the cause.
The ignition control module is integrated into the PCM and a faulty ICM can definitely cause this trouble code...and i have seen my share of faulty PCM's.
Hope this helps and the best of luck to ya.

SOURCE: MIL indicates cylinder misfire on 1, 3, and 5

Check for

vacuum leaks on intake manifold,

the air tube between the air filter.

intake manifold vacuum hose.

===
clean throttle plate with Berryman carburator cleaner

SEE sample picture HERE
===

Also remove carbon built up behind the EGR valve and the EGR passage tube.

===

Vacuum leak WILL offset the intended 14.7 to 1 air fuel ratio.

More un-metered air (leaks) will lean out the fuel mixture.

Use small amount of Berryman carb clearer at potential air leak area will help you identify trouble spot.

At idle,just spray and listen for the RPM surge.

The in-rush of carb clearer will increase the RPM on the motor.

Record the problem spot(s) and address it later.

===

EGR carbon built up require 2+ hours to clean from start to finish.

You will need a new EGR base gasket before your start.

Locate and remove the EGR valve after the vehicle is cool down.

Carefully record the connector and vacuum line (for older vehicle) location by drawing an easily to follow diagram.

Remove the EGR valve.

Inspect the location of the carbon built-up inside the valve and the EGR passage tube.

SOAK these areas with WD-40 spary.

You will need a small screwdriver,cloth hanger and lot of newspaper and time to get this cleaning done right.

RE-SOAK the carbon and let it sit for over-night will also help.

One the last round,pass a shop vacuum of the EGR valve and the passage pipe.

Install the new EGR gasket and connectors.

Allow the vehicle to warm up outdoor to burn up any remaining WD-40.

Take it for a test drive.

Have a 2009 Mazda CX-7 cylinder 3 misfire already change the coil pack last month and spark plugs ran fine after that now its reading cylinder 3 misfire again

Check to see that plug wire is fully seated on plug and coil pack..Then, pull plug to see if fouled due to not firing when pack was bad.

2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD V8 6.0L Engine misfires OBD TELLS ME CYLINDER 1

It's not those. It's the coil pack electrical plug. Pull the plug and use a hair dryer to dry it and the coil pack. Never use a power washer on the engine. The weather pack seals can't take that kind of pressure.

Cylinder misfire

If you already replaced all those thing there is only 2 things left that could be causing this problem one(you don't what it to be this one) low compression on cylinder 3 or the cheap fix, the coil pack, I would check the coil pack before checking compression.

MY 04 KIA SEDONA KEEPS SAYING MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 1 AFTER I'VE CHANGED THE WIRES, PLUGS, COIL PACKS 2X, ALL 4 LIFTERS AND THE FUEL INJECTOR. WHY? AND WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

Fire it up at night and look for arcing in the dark. It may also be nothing more than number 1 plug wire misrouted in a way that inductively picks up energy from one of the other coil packs or cylinders. It should cross other plug wires only once.

I have a misfire in 1 cylinder I had just bought spark plugs and wires I went back and reguaged them all and it still has a misfire what else could it be I have a 2001 Mercury sable.

It could be a coil pack. Follow the wire from the spark plug back to the coil pack. each one should run two cylinders. Switch the coil pack with a different one and see if a different cylinder misfires. They are easy to change, just 2 7mm screws hold each one on.

First step is new plugs. It's possible that you have a fouled #1 plug. If that doesn't work, check spark wires (if the car is so equipped) or if it has direct coil-on-plug ignition, where each cylinder has a coil pack on top of the plug, swap the coil packs between cylinders 1 and 2. Clear the code, run the car, and rescan the computer. If the code moves to indicate cylinder 2 misfiring, then your coil pack needs to be replaced.

Engine misfires

You didnt mention having changed the spark plug wires, so that is another item that could be culprit as well. As well, it could be a coil pack that is not working properly.

I cannot recall at the moment if that model year uses coil on plugs or if it uses coil packs. Either way, if it uses a coil on plug set up, take the one for the #3 cylinder and move it to say #4 or anyone of your choice and see if the misfire follows

If it uses coil packs, there is likely one coil pack that controls two cylinders. In that case just swap the coil pack with an adjacent one and see if the problem follows. Pay attention to where the spark plug wires go because it will be an issue if you get them mixed up. You just swap the coil packs around.

I would, however, start with the spark plug wires if you have not changed them already.

Audi A6 Misfires

You may have a coil pack going bad. They're on the front top of the engine - you'll see them if you follow the spark plug wires back. Do you have any codes from having the engine scanned? If you can get it scanned (AutoZone will do it free), post the codes up and we'll see which cylinder(s) are misfiring. From there, you can swap coilpacks around and see whether the misfires follow the packs or stay in the original cylinders. If they move, you have a bad coil pack or two. If they don't, since you've already changed plugs and wires, I'd see about having the injectors diagnosed to see if any of them are failing.
