1997 Ford Expedition v8 5.4 liter 4wd Eddie Bauer, I noticed a vibrating noise coming from either the engine or the undercarriage of the suv. It sounds like something is loose, not sure need help before I am charged a crazy price to repair. Thank you so much for your help
When the constant velocity joints are worn out. this is what u ussually get.
car vibrates if one or both are worn out. and vibration will increase as speed increases.
car will make a popping or tapping or clicking sound when steering.
Or they might just need lubrication too.
CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINTS ARE LOCATED JUST UNDER THE SHOCKS.....IT LOOKS LIKE A WORM LIKE PLASTIC COVERING A SHAFT.
hope this helps XD

I appreciate the feedback, I will have these checked out. Not trying to be rude but as a woman, I have constantly been overcharged and that is why I try to find out as much as possible because as you know, not all but some, do overcharge women. I would love to find a great mechanic I could trust. Thank you guys for your quick response.
most likely the sheet metal heat shielding covers on one of the catalytic converters is loose and vibrating, this is the most common source of noise like this, a muffler shop can check this out and most likely repair it for a small cost to u. This info is free!
A note: based on how hard a job auto repair is I don't think we as an industry charge a "CRAZY"amount for repair. I have lost track of how many cuts and burns i have gotten over the 35 years of my job the required a trip to the emergency room..
