SOURCE: inner tie rod installation

you will need to back off on the lock nut on the tie rod end then remove the tie rod end from spindle turn tie rod counting the number of turns to take it off put new tie rod the same number of turns put back in spindle and tighten lock nut your steering wheel will probably be off center so you will need to have the toe reset on the alignment machine

SOURCE: Very hard to steer, had the power steering pump

Check the fluid level and add if it's low on fluid, look for visible leaks that will need to be addressed. The only other thing to that may have gone bad is the power steering rack and will need to be replaced. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know your got your car running 100% again soon.

Find out what is causing noise from full steering lock on right and left , from stationery positon

Depends on what the noise sounds like. Some noise can be normal if you are holding the steering wheel at full lock . That is the pressure from the pump pushing hydraulic fluid through the steering box. If it is usually loud at the slightest turn..could be bad steering pump , leaking hose, leaking seal at steering box, even a bad belt.

My lexus sc 300 makes a squealing sound when I start it, and when I turn the wheels sharply to the right and left (while it is parked and running. My power steering pump supposedly has to be replaced,...

Hi Genebaran, I doubt very much if the steering pump needs replacement, but the drive serpentine belt does. The squealing happens because the belt is slipping on the pump pulley when the pump is under load when the steering is turned to full lock. By the way, don't keep the steering wheel at full lock for longer than a few seconds at a time, as it will place the pump under too much load! Tell your mechanic to fit a new belt. Advise the mechanic to make a sketch of the routing of the belt before he removes the old one. Regards Johngee10

This is most likely the power steering pump that you hear. Check the fluid level to be sure it is full. If the fluid is full then the pump is going out. Hope this helps. Good luck.

When I go to turn the wheel in my 2000 ford ranger I hear loud squealing noises. I checked the power steering fluid and its full. What can it be?The squealing starts as soon as I turn the wheel to the left...

The power steering pump is normally connected or driven by the engine with a V-belt. A loose belt can cause squealing as soon as the power steering come under load (e.g. steering left or right while stopped).

Check the tension on the V-belt directly connected to the power steering pump. This may need replacement.

Hoep this helps.
