Don't take this as an insult, because it sounds like you know what your doing, but you do know that you check the transmission fluid with the engine RUNNING correct?

SOURCE: the transmission wont shift out of 2nd gear again.

i can answer part of your question. the front wheel speed sensors are for abs and trac control only. these will not affect the speedo your problem is some where else. sorry i have not had this prob yet good luck. you could have to replace the rear wheel speed sensor again. they are not that good. and after market are even worse.

SOURCE: 2002 Dodge Caravan Transmission not upshifting

Hello,
I also was concerned about my tranny in my 1998 dodge caravan. I replaced the fluid & filter and it worked for a while. I finally had to bring it to AAMCO Transmission and they gave me a free evaluation of it & an estimate for the job. I had the option of ignoring their evaluation results and bring it home or just bite the bullet and have it repaired. I thought I could get a lot more miles out of it so I had it fixed for $1400 with no regrets.

Perhaps if you can find a similar place with free evaluation & estimate then that would be the thing to do as you seemed to have covered all the other bases.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Ram Automatic transmission problem

i had this problem with a friends 05 dodge 3500. i dropped the pan off the transmission, changed the governor pressure soleniod, trans filter and adjusted front and rear bands. also increased transmission pressure. this solved the problem he was having. you will need to have pressure gauges and a few special wrenches to do this yourself. also there is a valve in the transmission lines that has to be drilled out. this work not recommened unless you know what you are doing.

Will cam sensor cause tranSmission not to shift into overdrive

cam position sensors are there to alter the valve timing according to the engine rpms and keep the valve timing in relation to the piston positions
Any transmission problems will be a coincidence and will have their own fault code.

Ok I got a 97 dodge Dakota v8 4x4 and when you go

this sounds like a bad speed sensor which communicates with the ECM and TCM to shift the transmission which will cause the speedometer and the transmission to act the way it is.

Lincoln town car 97 transmission problem. I have a town car 97, the problem is when I brake or let the car slow down by itself and when the car slow down until 48 km/h I can feel the down shift maybe from...

That doesn't sound like a problem, it sounds like it's shifting out of "Overdrive" due to low RPM. That would be normal. If it's more noticeable now than in the past, that's likely just wear of the parts (that's an old transmission at this point), or need transmission fluid checked/replaced. Only someone who knows transmissions can really diagnose if there is any problem, but what you are feeling is the normal downshift out of "overdrive" into the next gear, the only question is is it more noticeable now than in the past.

2004 nissan frontier 4cylinder automatic transmission shifts in to overdrive too soon

An expert at a shop ought to look at this---could be a shift module or electronic or mechanical problem.

It might also be a sign something bad is about to happen.

Electronic or mechanical issue?

F150 transmission neutralizes when shifts to overdrive

I have that exact same truck and transmission and My Transmission did the exact same thing about a year ago and there was some kind of snap ring inside the transmission that broke. I originally thought it had to be an electirical problem because the truck shifted fine until OD or if i turned OD off. The 4r70w is a light transmission and i would suggest you have a shift kit put in and they make a heavier kit to beef it up.. Sorry its probably not the new you were looking for.
