ALWAYS use the larger hose to put in the freon .. the small hose is the high pressure side stay away from it.. you might look near your dryer or on the dryer to find the port to put it in .. your dryer is about 3 inches across and 8 inches long cylinder.. instal freon with car running and ac on high. an empty system takes about 3 cans normally .. when its about right your compressor should kick in because there is a pressure switch on the dryer that tells it to kick on .. holler if you need more Jerry and thanks ..

Air conditioner does not start immediately
You may well have a ccot system. Cycling Clutch Orifice Tube. Rather than having a adjustable expansion valve, they use a fixed orifice for an expansion valve, then turn the compressor on and off to maintain correct pressures. This does produce higher fuel mileage. It is not necessary to run the compressor full time to achieve proper cooling.

YOU MORE LIKELY NEED MORE REFRIGERANT IN SYSTEM SOUND LOW FIRST HOOK A MANIFOLD GAUGE SET CHECK AC LOW PRESSURE SIDE AND HIGH PRESSURE SIDE.LOW PRESSURE SIDE SHOULD BE 34 PSI AND HIGH SIDE SHOULD BE 228 PSI.

Need to know how to replace refrigerant pressure sensor on 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 air conditioner compressor.
The low pressure switch screws into the side of the accumulator and it should have a shrader valve so you can replace it without loosing all of your refrigerant.

2006 impala air conditioner not working
If the AC pressure drops too low in the sealed system it will not allow the AC pump to actuate and never cool the air. Have an auto shop attach a pressure meter to the AC fill / test valve and determine if your low. If you are you can get it filled, or purchase aftermarket fill cans at auto shops.

clutch plates worn or more common is the modulator went out it is a small unit on the trans with a hose relace from a junk yard becareful when you remove tranny fliud will come out measure how much you lose and replace better yet remove pan an relace gasket and trans filter and put new dex merc fluid in also check fluid level in 2 gear

My 1997 Grand AM low pressure valve is on the air conditioner. I had to access it from the under the car. It has a blue cap on it. IF your looking from the top of the engine you can see it on the right side of the air conditioner
