Injectors not getting electrical power and not releasing fuel into the cylinders, hence no engine start

I badly need the complete wiring schematic for my 2005 ford f350 Super Duty 6.0L. I have done all troubleshooting I can and even fitted new pump.Serviced all filters, but still wont start. The injectors are not introducing fuel into the cylinders.Crank or turns over fine, but their is no fuel getting into the cylinders, oil pressure is good. How do I get power to the injectors to get them to introduce fuel? They all seem completely isolated. How I do I reset computer without the WDS or IDS? Please help, If I can get a wiring schematic maybe I will be able to see the place where the power to the injectors is getting cut off. After tests and mesaures numerous time we have found that the injectors are not getting any electrical power? Help Herman Very Urgent! Truck has been down since 4th January and Its here in zimbabwe ,Africa and the nearest place for warranty is 1600miles away and I cannot tow that vehicle that far

They buzz, and I have new oil in the sump and the quantity is correct also.I have gone through the oil pressure route and verified that I have correct oil pressure. When the engine is turning over the presure gage goes up above 50% and drops after about four seconds

  • linecrosser May 11, 2009

maybe thats where im gettin confused, can you please give me the procedure to check the high pressure system, because I thought the oil system was just one .Please walk me through what I need to do to check the high pressure oil system.Or better still please explain the  difference between the two systems and how to check them and how to correct them

  • linecrosser May 12, 2009

I do not have access to a scan tool and also the special adaptor you mentioned that goes in where the oil pressure sensor is.What causes the oil pressure to drop besides oil leaks?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

do you have access to a scan tool? you can monitor the oil pressure sensor. there is a special adapter the goes in where the pressure sensor is in the pass side valve cover to test the pressure. The way it works- the low pressure base oil system that lubricates the engine also feed the high pressure system- the high pressure system needs a min of 600psi to fire the injectors

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

did you check the low oil pressure or the high pressure system?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

do the injectors buzz when the key is first turned on?

the injectors require oil pressure to open, you might have an oil pressure concern not an electrical concern

All pre 2008 powerstrokes use oil pressure supplied by a High Pressure Oil Pump(HPOP)to activate a plunger setup in the injector to inject fuel into the cylinders at 21 PSI. More than likely some of the HPOP components need to be replaced- i.e. valve, regulator, seal, feed tube...or the pump itself. I've replaced seals on these units since 2003, when Ford wanted to replace the pump and injectors. Did you notice a gradual increase in hard starting conditions? Do you have any visable oil leaks? Did you run the crankcase oil level down to below the add mark recently? All of these could be a factor. Ford wont tell you anything about a price because they dont like to do that before they do a diagnostic check on it and determine exactly how much needs to be fixed. Test alone will run around 100 buxs. If you are within warranty requisites then it wont matter and you likely wont be charged anything. If they crack into it have em fix as much as you can while theyre in there, because after warranty is out you are looking at a 3000 dollar repair bill from your friendly Ford dealer. Good luck...i hope this helps.

Changed coil pack and plug in #5 on 2002 Chrysler 300M.Engine light on put on scanner po300 and 305 come up. Hard to start when cold . Starts fine when warmed up. What's my next step?

possible causes for code P0300
you've already change coil and plug....

P0300 could be bad #3 plug or coil... switch those also and see if code change..

if it persist try the next thing..

I would try trading fuel injector 4 to 5 and putting 5 into 4 and see which code you get.....

  • Faulty spark plug (s)
  • Faulty ignition coil (s)
  • Clogged or faulty fuel injector (s)
  • Intake air leak
  • Fuel injectors harness is open or shorted
  • Fuel Injectors circuit poor electrical connection
  • Ignition coils harness is open or shorted
  • Ignition coils circuit poor electrical connection
  • Insufficient cylinders compression
  • Incorrect fuel pressure
code P0305 is simmilar....

  • Faulty spark plug 5
  • Clogged or faulty fuel injector 5
  • Faulty ignition coil 5
  • Fuel injector 5 harness is open or shorted
  • Fuel injector 5 circuit poor electrical connection
  • Ignition coil 5 harness is open or shorted
  • Ignition coil 5 circuit poor electrical connection
  • Insufficient cylinder 5 compression
  • Incorrect fuel pressure
  • Intake air leak

How to install a fuel injector on a 2002 jeep liberty 3.7

so that mean the old one is all ready removed.?
or did you mean all steps in the fsm for INJECTOR.
the steps are the same on all EFI fuel rail injectors.
you could google that or you tube it or read the FSM.

hide call keys from step 2 on, or very bad things can happen.
(wife or kids no aware of danger)
ill just cover the (basics)
1: per FSM , depressurize the system, in can be at 60PSI
parked. so avoid fuel in eyes, or a fire. we do that first.
gain access to rail under failure. (RUF) (no barking)
2: remove injector X , wire plug. (failing)
3: then detach the injector rail clamps the both rails off as one....
injector are all now loose, to pull off.
4: add new seals to new injector, and install in reverse order.

that's it, only the gain access , varies,... mostly.

last depressure steps:
run engine,
remove fuel pump relay, engine stalls. key off, hide keys
!

next tje FSM words (just the OFF section)

  1. Remove fuel tank filler tube cap.
  2. Perform Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure.
  3. Remove negative battery cable at battery.
  4. Remove air duct at throttle body air box.
  5. Remove air box at throttle body.
  6. Disconnect fuel line latch clip and fuel line at fuel rail. A special tool will be necessary for fuel line disconnection.
  7. Remove necessary vacuum lines at throttle body.
  8. Disconnect electrical connectors at all 6 fuel injectors. Push red colored slider away from injector. While pushing slider, depress tab and remove connector from injector. The factory fuel injection wiring harness is numerically tagged (INJ 1, INJ 2, etc.) for injector position identification. If harness is not tagged, note wiring location before removal.
  9. Disconnect electrical connectors at throttle body sensors.
  10. Remove 6 ignition coils.
  11. Remove 4 fuel rail mounting bolts.
  12. Gently rock and pull left side of fuel rail until fuel injectors just start to clear machined holes in cylinder head. Gently rock and pull right side of rail until injectors just start to clear cylinder head holes. Repeat this procedure (left/right) until all injectors have cleared cylinder head holes.
  13. Remove fuel rail (with injectors attached) from engine.

I have a 1992 acura legend it's been sitting up for about three years replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, injector resistor, ran compression check on all cyl. all above 150 psi. swapped ign....

Put a meter on the firing and non firing side on the injectors and see if the reading is the same. Sometimes a whole bank of injectors loose the pulse to inject. If this is what is going on you need to check all the fuses, and look for wiring harness grounds on the engine near the injectors. A bad connection, or a bad fuse can shut down one side of the engine. It is also possible the engine computer has lost a driver, and is bad, this also can shut down a bank of injectors. Most of the time problems like this are caused by bad connections. If a quick check of these mentioned items doesn't help then get a good service manual with a wiring schematic in it and start checking out the wires to see if there is a break in the wires.

I have a 96 suburban 5.7 throwing a po305 code, ive replaced the distributor, map sensor, plugs, wires, and coverted from scfi to mfi,the code went away for two days and now has returned. ihave replaced...

The 305 code means a cylinder misfire. You could have a bad valve or a cracked cylinder head (worst case). Rent a compression tester from any auto parts store that does the tool loan program and test your compression. If ALL your cylinders are within 20% of each other, then I would check your injector pressure. I hope its something simple and cheap to repair.

The engine on my sons 91 Mazda Miata is running ruff. Like on 3 cylinders. If I pull the spark plug wire on the #1 cylinder the engine runs the same. If I pull the spark plug wires on the #2,3, or 4...

You have done a great test but If I assk you to do a swap of the Ist cylinder plug and injector with one from the 3rd , we can come to a conclusion before we can change the full set of plugs and injectors for a good performance.( only if the mileage is time enough to do the change)
If you have confirmed with the spark and the fuel ( hope the fuel pressure is good and the pump calibrated , even though this is not relevant) please also check the wires to the first plug and the fuel line to the first injector.
I hope there is no issues in the pump finally for not releasing enough fuel to the first.( Check for presence of fuel pressure in this line)
I am sure you are confident enough to get to the fault .
Hope you credit me if this helps a bit. Good day

The electric fuelinjecter isn't pumping gas,car won't start.

Are you sure it's an electric fuel injector or the fuel pump that isn't pumping gas.

The Nothstar Engine has an injector for each cylinder, and injectors don't generally pump, they just release pressure built up in the fuel rail.

The relay, wiring, or fuel pump can be at fault. Check the fuse for it, to start.

P0308 cylinder 8 misfire detected? How to repair?

Fuel injector cleaner commonly has a low success rate, and will not help if it's more than one cylinder that is missfiring. The fact that you have a "rattle" noise, leads me to beleive the engine is not receiving fuel on one or more cylidners. If it is all the cylinders, than the fuel pump may be the culprit, or the fuel pump circuit. But if only one cylidner is missfiring than it is a possibly an injector. A code P0300 refers to all cylinder missfires, and any code between P0301-P0308 distinugiushes a particular cylinder.

Misfiring
1- a general electrical tune-up (spark plugs, wire set, cap & rotor) is a basic start to cure this issue. Wiggle the dist shaft while you are in there, if you have one.
2- Then a good carbon cleaning / throttle-body cleaning.
3- Vacuum leaks at any of the hoses that connect to the Intake manifold; especially the MAP sensor connection.
4- If that does not help then the O2 sensor could be bad or drifting.
5- Funky coil/coil-packs
6- Theoretically a microsecond glitch in either the cam or crank shaft sensors would cause this, but I am not aware of this as a typical cause.
7- Lastly a funky PCM but again it is not common for this to cause miss-firing.

Note for the V8 then also:
a) bad erg valve (this dilutes the combustion gases and hence raises the combustion temp
b) a leaky plenum/Intake manifold gasket. Leaking Intake gasket symptoms

Also can check the TSB 18-48-98 Ignition System Cross Fire/Secondary Ignition Wire Induction (Complete Version )

Hope help with this (remember rated this). Good luck and have a nice day.

Mechanical failure

possible 1 or more fuel injectors failing...best thing to do is actually ohm injector windings and look for 22 ohms(+ or -) of resistance. These fail sometimes as a result of fuel quality especially pertaining to alcohol content in fuel ...anything near or past 10% present in fuel can actuall degrogate the electrical windings inside the injector and causing them not to function ,therefore not providing fuel to its cylinder hence cylinder mis fire missing and extreme lack of power...good luck
