First check all fuses under the dash and hood. if everything is good there. if it turns over but wont start it could be the Fuel pump or Crank sensor. while in park and parking break on have someone lay to the side of the jeep about middle way of the gas tank, turn the igniction switch to the on position WITHOUT cranking it over. you should be able to here a humming noise for about 3 to 4 secounds, if you only here a click probley the pump. also if the fuel filter has not been changed in a while you need to do that as well.

p.s that is a commin problem from 1997-2003 models i am surprised there has not been a recall.

Won't start how ? When your the key to the start position what happens ? The engine spins but won't start an run . this a crank no start condition . If nothing happens when you turn the key to start ,this is a no crank no start condition . Need to be clear on this so we know what to have check . If nothing happens when turning the key to start position ,try moving gear selector to neutral - park neutral safety switch . If when you turn the key to start an the engine does spin but doesn't start an run ,check for spark ,fuel pressure . see what's missing .

Car will start to chugg and then die and sometimes wont start , engine light comes on when this starts happening
