Once the engine warms up its fine but when you put on the gas when it's cold it simply bogs down. It won't stall or anything but it won't really accelerate. It shifts trhough the gears but it just bogs down when its cold.
Once its warm it runs like a champ....any thoughts
Man you have a lot of things to check out. You really need to start out by getting a computer scan done on your truck. Diesels are not what they use to be, and there are to many things to look at. My initial thoughts are that you have a bad injector, but if you are not mechanicaly skilled this is not a job for you. Please save your self the head ache and get the scan done by a reputable dealer or mechanic not the cheapo parts store. It could be anything from a dirty filter or line to a injector.
If you get the scan done and then its something you can do your self, go for it. I have told my friends if they want to buy a diesel, which I am not against at all. If they want me to work on them they have to buy the scanning tool for it because finding the problem takes for ever.
Once you get the scan done then let me know and I can help you more.

ya, I don't believe its the turbo, because its just pushes air in not fuel. I really am not a turbo guy so I have not taken the time to know that much about them. That in mind I know they have berrings in them so if you believe its in the turbo, check if its making any noise.
anyway let me know what you find, I always like working on diesels, just hate tracking down the problem.

Thanks tepfy, my initial thought was the turbo. Didn't think the injector would start working after it was warm. I am taking your advice to have it scanned, to many things to check.
