I need to replace my armrest on my 1999 ford winstar how do i remove the armrest?
The real real answer. If the threaded stud is in the armrest there is a clip at the bottom of it you have to push it up and pull the stud out with vice grips twisting as you pull out. If both the studs are in the chair you have to make sure the clip is pushed up & out of the way then simply line up the arm rest and push it on. It should clip into place. Hope that is clear enough. Also I would put some Lock Tight on the threads. (Blue)
I discovered the only bolt that holds the arm rest is between the the back part of the chair and the pivot point of the armrest. There is a large bolt that seems to act as a swivel pin. I found out that is is a reverse threaded bolt. Turn the bolt clockwise to loosen it or counter clockwise to tighten it. It is a tight space to put a wrench in however it can be done. I used my fingers and I loosened it a bit. Grip of steel, you know. Good Luck.
