Troubleshooting My ac is stuck and turns on and off the entire time the ignition is on. The cluster hasnt work since this issue started either. Interior lights stay on when the ignition is off and door is open. Then when the car is on and door is ajar, all the lights flash.

Check ur alternator.

Testimonial: "No I knew it wasnt the alternator or any power issues. She drove fine on the road. No problem getting from point A to B just weird and crazy things were happening when the car was on. I went to the Junk yard and pulled the Body control Module out of a Intrepid and s now shes 100% back in business, however, Im guessing the wiper motor just happend to burn up whenever the old BCM shot.... Still no windshield wipers arent anything that Rain X cant fix for the moment. Better than no heat, no working cluster, transmission playing hookie and times, and lights flashing on and off. First I thought it was a wiring shortage or blown fuse. replaced the fuses and checked ground couldn't find anything. The only other common denominator between all my issues was the BCM. Anyhow... thanks"

that issue is most likely a body control module. if one is replaced, it may have to be programmed by dealer.

Have 1999 Dodge stratus all the gauges stopped working and odometer reads -no bus- a/c compressor stop working to, they all stopped at the same time.

I'd have to check voltage and ground for the instrument cluster. I noticed one of the fuses for your instrument cluster goes hot with the key on, same thing for ac compressor. I'd have to voltage feed to and from ignition switch for applicable fuse. Check the ignition switch wiring connector. I can't rule out ignition switch itself, at the moment.
There could be other issues?
Ignition switch faults are common on some makes and models.
Instrument cluster wiring connector problems. Sometimes if you disconnect and reconnect the instrument cluster connector, it may start working again, also, cycling the instrument cluster connector may reset, if it starts working, well, it's working for now, may quit again.
Some instrument clusters may do a self test, don't know about yours?
Press and hold odometer reset button, turn key to run position release odometer reset button, watch the odometer. Your indicator lamps may turn on and off, the gages may cycle in small increments. The cluster will exit self test on its own.
You may have to check buss circuits.

Speedometer, cruise light , ac/heater control doesn't work

Sounds like someone needs to do some more troubleshooting first. Changing the cluster is not a simple matter since your mileage will be different. And the cluster is on a different circuit that the ac so one should not affect the other.

Car won't start keys were left in ignition

Try jumping/boosting the vehicle, all of the above will still work with a weak/low battery but the starting system takes a lot of amperage to turn over the engine. If you only left the keys in the car and no lights on or anything running why would it not start if it was starting correctly before??? Whats happened since the car was last started?

Speedometer and Tachometer intermittent, work properly or do not work at all. Owned vehicle since special ordered from factory at end of model year, purchased the full OEM Toyota manuals before ordering...

Possible fault according to your input could be dry points or fault connectivity within the cluster. Try to look for dry solder joints on the sensors which give the input, or clean the connectors using dirt cleaners. As the condition improved after reassembly it cannot be a failure but a fault joint in the electronics. I request you take your time to redo the earlier work with more patience, use a lens to detect any loose connection, if possible use a multimeter to test the continutiy.Good Luck.

Both speedometer & tachometer not working, both reading wrong.

There was a recent class action law suit settled with GM for this exact problem. You can google gm speedometer lawsuit and get lots of information. Unforutunately for most people I think the warranty was limited to 7 years and 70,000 miles. Which isn't a lot of miles for most people.

If you car isn't covered by the warranty there is a way to "reset" the speedometer.

You can turn the ignition slowly like you are going to start the engine. There is a very small "dead" space where you will see your guage lights go off.

What you want to do is cycle the ignition switch from off to that dead space. Each time you do it your stuck speedometer will move towards zero about 10 mph. So if its stuck on 40 you will have to cycle it at least 4 times.

At first you will probably actually hit the ignition and the engine will try to start.....just release it and try it again.

I know this because I have a 04 avalanche with 80,0000 miles and it has this problem about twice a month.

How do you turn off BMW X5 tire pressure light once the tires have been inflated

On some X5's you can do it through the instrument cluster whereas other through the button on the centre console depending on the spec.

On the centre console you'll find the tpc button. It looks like a flat tyre with an exclamation. With the ignition turned off, press and hold this button and turn on the ignition to position 2. You'll notice on the instrument cluster the light go red, yellow, off and then come back on yellow. When the light comes back on yellow release the button and wait with the ignition on until the yellow tpc button goes out. Thats it.

If this hasnt worked you have a different spec and therefore a different way of doing it! Let me know and il guide you through it.

Hope this helps!

NO START

This problem can be three things. The ignition switch is a good place to start but its under a recall and you should not spend any money on this repair. The passlock system next to ignition switch should probably be changed at the same time and is also under a recall. The instrument cluster is the most probable in your case. The reason i say that is because the key is the headlights not turning on you may also have some lights on the instrument cluster flickering on and off at weird times. The speedometer or other gauges are probably not working all the time. if you are handy you can remove the cluster and send it out for repair. The tech who repairs this might even tell you that the instrument cluster has nothing to do with non start issue but it does. the passlock anti theft reads the ignition key when you insert it into ignition cylinder. Once you turn the key the ignition sends a signal through the instrument cluster to the pcm. the pcm will allow the car to start if the correct signal is recieved. If the pcm recieves no signal it allows the car to start for a second and then kills the car.
