Hard shift reverse - 2005 Dodge Stratus

check fluid level and condition ----is the idle high when cold

could be air in lines or a bad slave out of the box. i'd bleed it first and go from there

It can be issue with gears or problem with transmission and needs to be rebuilt. Also get the ****** fluid checked. If it's low, then such problems occurs.

The shifter needs to be inspected. If The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

that delayed reaction may be the transmission slipping. with those many miles it could be the transmission going bad

stop shifting so hard. your reverse gear is the same exact gear as your first, so if you shift hard and grind that gear a little then reverse will be harder to get into. you probably need your transmission rebuilt the harder your engine has to work the more its going to bogg down

sounds like your due for a clutch

You will have to have the solenoid body replaced in the tranny and have the PCM reprogrammed.

if it will not shift out of park when the brake is pushed then in will be the shift interlock, but if it is still hard to move after out of park then it will be a shift cable
