If only the trunk release is not working, did you check to see if the little lever arm switch on the trunk lid at the latch assembly is switched to enable the release? Mine came switched to the 'Off' position when I bought it and it took me a few days to figure that one out.

    HAHA thank you for your post! I have thought for over a year i needed to have the trunk release fixed. Saw this and looked and low and behold it was on lock. NO more! i get to push the button and it will work! yay!

Get locks checked out by a locksmith. You might have to replace that lock.

My 2003 Saturn Ion remote trunk release won't
Check to make sure the button on the trunk latch is turned from manual unlock...they made that feature so only the key will work to open the trunk that way if someone breaks in the front of your car they can't hit the trunk release and get into the trunk...may be the same thing for your remote. Hope that helps.

2003 Saturn ION 2 trunk Problem
there is a manual switch that is located near the trunk latch for a safty lockout it might have been switched by accident look to make sure.hope this helps.

Location of fuse for trunk release
look in the owner's manual - the fuses are by the drivers pedals in the console. there's a chart in the manual of which fuses operate what; then when you take the fuse panel cover off it shows which fuse is where.
