Hesitation during acceleration

Rough idle, hesitation during acceleration, more noticeable during uphill. Started mild a year ago, now more pronounced. Full engine diagnosis showed no codes or abnormal firing. Plugs replaced 3 months ago, gear lube changed 1 moth ago, engine mount replaced 3 days ago, no change.

Serpentine belt squealing

Either the belt has stretched, or the tensioner is not keeping it tight.
Or it has oil on it.

Have you checked your oil and fluid levels in the engine and transmisson.
if it's a manual could the clutch be worn out causing the high rpm and thrust bearing noise in the clutch.

I have a 2003 ford focus that I have a pinging engine sound during acceleration or going uphill. The car also hesitates while driving at a steady speed on a flat road. It will also just stop (maybe 5-10...

Hello, Thomas. Check the knock sensor. This sensor is suppose to send signal to the computer if the engine start to knocking or pinging. The computer will change the setting on various other components to keep from doing this knocking or pinging. I remember in the older cars that weren't fuel injected but carbureted and had to burn high octane fuel. If one put low octane in the fuel tank the engine would knock/ping, and continue to run after the ignition was turned off. Try the knock sensor or do an diagnosis test on it. Look in your owner manual it tell how to self diagnosis test on you car. GB....stewbison

Check engine light on and car is idling rough, hesitates during acceleration replaced spark plugs.

Need to know the code stored in the computer to diagnose, further. Rough idle can be caused by a variety of reasons, of which, the code can lead to a diagnosis and repair path.

It surges at idle and stumblesunder mild

I want u to clean the air intake valve and idle speed control valve, follow the procedure below.

Here are the common cause of surges, cold stalls, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

let me know in a few days if this helps.

2004 dodge caravan 2.4 Hesitates during Acceleration and at idele

You should definitely replace the fuel filter though this probably won't fix your hesitation. It wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plugs this is usually the culprit on these engine. I have the same engine in a '99 caravan and found the for some reason the spark plugs on cylinder 3 and 4 loosen up after one year and cause a misfire between 45 and 50 mph under load (when mildly accelerating).
