I have a 2004 Freelander 2.5L Petrol LH drive. I have been smelling antifreeze in the cab once it warms up. It's not the heater core. I don't see any drips or puddles under the vehicle. I can't see any moisture under hood at all. I do however smell antifreeze on the opposite side of the motor as the resevoir, at the back near the firewall. There is an array of hoses there but i've squeezed them and I can't seem to find out where the coolant is going. I only have to top the resevoir up every 3-4 weeks. Usually get the smell in the cab when engine is under load on take-off yet the windshield doesn't mist up and there's no moisture on the carpet. I have the same problem with a 2003. doesn't seem to be a serious issue, but need to have it checked out.

check the reserviour bottle itself underneath for any cracks cause I had a taurus once looked all over for antifreeze leaks and I found it by putting a pressure tester on it

With problems like this the only sure way is to go to a workshop and get them to pressure test the cooling system, that is if you dont have a pressure tester yourself. Then it should be seen where you are losing coolant. It may leak from any where, hoses, loose clips, even the filler cap. Is there any sign of antifreeze that has dried
hope this helps
