I too have a 2010 Kia Forte and my brake lights are not working. All of the fuses for the brake lights are working. The problem is coming from the wires underneath the steering wheel by the brake pad. If you wiggle them around you may get lucky and have brake lights, otherwise they just dont work.I called the dealer and the guy in the service department stated that it would be $109 for him to run a diagnostic test plus any cost for the repairs. I called Kia Consumer Affairs to see if any recalls had been issued on the vehicle and they stated no. I'm at a loss here. Please help...thanks :)

You need to invest in a 12 volt test light. Check for voltage into the brake light switch with key on engine off. If you have voltage in depress the brake pedal and check the other wire for voltage. If no voltage replace the switch. If you do have voltage see if the lights are on. If no then you have an open circuit between switch and lights.

Interior lights and truck lights not working. 2010 Kia Forte how do I know it's not the fuse?

If the interior lights and truck lights are not working in your 2010 Kia Forte, it's possible that the issue is with a blown fuse. Here are a few steps you can take to determine if the problem is with a fuse:
  1. Check the owner's manual: The owner's manual for your Kia Forte will have a diagram of the vehicle's fuse box and information on the location of the fuses for the interior and truck lights.
  2. Locate the fuse box: The fuse box for your Kia Forte is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side or in the engine compartment.
  3. Check the fuses: Once you have located the fuse box, check to see if any of the fuses for the interior and truck lights are blown. A blown fuse will have a melted or broken wire inside.
  4. Replace the fuse: If you find a blown fuse, you can replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage. You can find replacement fuses at most auto parts stores.
It's also important to keep in mind that a blown fuse is not the only reason why your lights are not working and that there may be other issues that are preventing the lights from working, such as a faulty headlight switch, bad wiring, or a malfunctioning light bulb. If you have checked the fuses and the lights are still not working, it's best to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis.
It's also important to note that some of these steps require a certain level of mechanical knowledge and experience. If you're not comfortable with checking these items, it's best to consult a professional mechanic.if i was able to help my cashapp $ralphpapi thank you have a blessing day

Hi I have a 2010 kia forte ex. My brake lights aren't working. I have checked the fuses the bulbs and they are all fine. All of the other lights come on and work but not the brake lights. I have 72000...

I think the engine and drive train are covered for 100k but not the rest of the car.
Someone will need to find out if you have power in and out of the brake light switch to proceed with testing.

What makes brake lights work sometimes on my kia forte

Could be a loose connection somewhere...but usually it's caused by a bad or misadjusted brake light switch. also sometimes thie switch has a plastic or rubber cap on the switch end that touches the brake pedal arm, and that wears out with age or use.

It's usually easy to replace.
