Poor acceleration 2005 Nissan Frontier 4.0L 6cyl, rear wheel drive. Recently replaced pre-cat on driver's side based on code. After a couple weeks noted rough idle, poor gas mileage and engine rpm won't exceed 3500 when floored. Will accelerate slowly to highway speeds with light throttle. Sounds like misfire but no MIL or codes detected!

When was the last time it was serviced? I had this issue on a different car and it turned out to be a 'Very' dirty fuel filter. Bad quality 'cheap' fuel or some types of 'Bio' diesel can cause similar problems.
Lifting your foot lets the fuel pump catch up supplying fuel.
This is also a reasonably cheap fix.

Go to www.autozone.com and put in the make, model and year in the MY VEHICLES portion. Then look at the free repair guides. You can also call the dealer and speak to the service manager and get advice.
Go to a different dealer. The dealer should know what is wrong with the vehicle by the codes. Don't let them keep guessing what is wrong and having you replace random parts.
Catalytic converters should last the life of the vehicle. usually they are damaged be a poorly running engine. most common causes are lean misfire causing unburnt fuel and air to get into the convert and ignite there. coolant or oil burning. engine running too hot (lean) overheating converters.
was it the same converter that went twice? did they change them at the same time? where the pre-converters? is the engine light on?
You have 2 cats B1 & B2 and it sounds as if the right side (B1) is clogged. If that's the case you will need to replace it with a new one from your Nissan Dealer. While your in there you should check the condition of that right exhaust manifold as they are known to crack and if so replace it while your replacing the cat. Hope this helps.
