take it to best buy, they do it for $50 for alarm removal or make friends that works there. I would just buy an aftermarket and get it replaced by them

Hi, the starter relay needs a ground signal from the PCM. The PCM may withhold ground unless both the anti-theft system and park/neutral switch are closed. You can bypass this by cutting the dark blue/orange strip wire from the relay and grounding it to the chassis, but this will also bypass the park/neutral interlock. In addition, the the computer may disable other functions due to the anti-theft system, including injector or fuel pump relay signals.

well thats an interesting idea but by bypassing the alarm your car will not usualy start it is a safety feature that is built in to all chrysler autos it will disable the starter coil door locks windows and half the electrical systm as a safety feature and anti theft feature

I would concentrate on the computer itself-also get onother opinion by doin a code scan again-the wiring inthe harness may hav faults-if ur tech minded go to sec 629 library

96 dodge caravan cranks but won't start, no dash light

Two things...
One: the dealer may be right about the alarm system. I had a similar problem with my 97 chev tahoe. The anti-theft device was shutting the electrical system down intermittently and without warning. I had to completely disconnect he system to remedy the problem.

Two: I came across a similar problem on a caravan at the shop once. At the front of the engine there is a brace (under the front of the vehicle near the rad support) There is a wiring harness the passes tightly around the brace. Sometimes the brace wears through some wires and causes the condition you are referring to. To fix the situation, you have to repair the broken/shorting wires.

How do I diable 1993 Dodge Caravan alarm? Car won't start

i would guess this is an aftermarket alarm system ? they only work well for a few years, than start doing this kind of thing. look under the dash above the brake pedal.most times these alarms are installed closely mounted to the steering colume. they are 3x3 black boxes with several connectors comming from them. most times they have 4 or five heavyier wires and a bunch of thinner wires on different connectors. most times you can look at the wires a picture how they have been cut into to make the alarm work. simply put the wires back to the original hook ups. most times just the larger wires are enough to get it started.

you need to find out which wires go to what like the ones going into the alarm and the ones coming from the car u might have to put them back together..hopefully they are color coordinated for you good luck

Ok, if you can't disable your alarm system because you lost your remote just lock all doors wait until alarm shut down by itself them unlocked the door with the key and this will disarm the alarm. dodge will charge u around 135.00 for the remote alarm sys.i did and work.

Quick Fix, disconnect the battery by opening hood and looking to the right. Use Channel locks (adjustable pliers) or matching socket set/wrench to disconnect battery (even while alarm is going off). Then reconnect it. You should at least be able to crank it then, drive it to an auto parts store or mechanic. not a good idea to mess with fuses if you aren't familiar with their layout or which fuse is for what.
