SOURCE: 97 dodge 2500 4x4 will not engage

On the axle there is a vacuum Actuator that engages a collar on the axle that engages the four wheel drive if the axel splines are worn or havent been lined up they will get burred and won't allow the collar to line up. You can remove the actuator and see the splines and determine if they need to be fixed.

I have a 2005 ford explorer sport trac xlt 4x4 when I switch the switch to 4 wheel drive nothing happens I have checked both fuse panels and the are ok Where do I go next

The switch could be faulty. You could try unplugging the leads from the transfer case then using a test light to see if the power is getting to the actuator.

How to change instrument lights bulb for vw polo 1997 1.4

You will need to remove the clocks, here's how
1. remove the plastic surround held by two screws might be torx screws.
2. you will see 4 screws either side of the instrument pod, remove them
3. hold the top od the pod and pull towards you
4. unplug the multiplug connector on the back
5. wiggle the pod out through the middle of the steEring wheel (you might find it helps to slack off the adj steering lever)
6. you will now see the twist fit bulbs, replace them with t501 type lamps
7. then refitting is the reversal of above! or something along those lines.

4x4 indicator lamp does not illuminate ar sometimes flicker when engaging 4x4. Does it mean that 4x4 is not engaged or is the lamp just an indicator of status of your selection?

A good starting point in the troubleshooting process is to check the Engine Control Module or the Power-Train Control Module (same thing different terms used by various auto manufacturers) to see if it is "throwing" any troubleshoot codes. You'll need a scanner tool for that.
It gets plugged into the OBD-II connector under the dash. Since you did not mention the year, make, and model of the car- I will assume that your 4X4 is 1996 or newer, when autos were built to be OBD-II compliant.
As a side note, even if the MIL or check engine light did not illuminate, that does not mean that the ECM/PCM did not see a problem; it could be in a "pending" status...or there were not 3 or more consecutive drive cycles in which the fault occurred, detected, and stored.
If you can lift all 4 wheels off the ground, with the aid of a helper, start the truck, put the 4-wheel drive selector knob (assuming its an electric/vacuum control system and not manually operated) into 4X4 high and low and see if all 4 wheels turn; if they do, the problem could be a loose bulb or connection within the dashboard or the bulb itself is going bad.
If wheels are not turning in 4X4 mode, then you'll need to check components that control 4X4 activation...it could be anything from a bad switch, vacuum control module-solenoid-sensor, or a bad hub seals, etc.
I would also recommend buying a service repair manual specific to your 4X4 if you intend to troubleshoot and repair the vehicle yourself.

No 4x4 when turning selector switch to 4x4 position(any position)

What year is the truck ? Probably has DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code or codes stored in the transfer case shift control module. These would point to the problem .

2005 F150 4x4 hubs not engaging

First, You said you DID NOT check for voltage at the solenoid connector...I think that would be a real good idea.

Did you check to see if the vacuum lines actually had vacuum? Did you check to see if vacuum was present at the solenoid? Does the solenoid "click" when changes are made to the 4X4 controls? Did you check for Did you check that the vacuum from the solenoid to the axle actuator was being applied to the actuator?

Your vehicle is an old OBD1 Vehicle.
Forget fuses and sensors, they have no role

Check for vacuum to the front axle vacuum actuator, when in 4 wheel
The console shift indicator bulb, is probably burnt out

On my 91 gmc k1500 4x4 pickup my passenger side brake light is out. just when i brake and use the turn signal. replaced bulb but still that one wont work what should i do?.

Sounds like you have a bad connection at the light housing. If you have a volt meter check the voltage at the bulb connector when the brakes are applied. You may have a bad wire coming in at the housing. If you do, the connector can be changed.

F 150 Head light issue

You know the fuse for the high beams is good ( Cab fuse panel fuse # 16 ) and the pass low beam fuse ( cab fuse panel # 26 ).
Might want to check cab fuse panel fuse #28 ( this is the driver's side low beam ).

If this fuse has power on both sides ( with the low beams on ) next you can pull the headlamps, and check for power at the connectors, but depending when the last bulb change took place, I would say you need need bulbs. ( need at least 1 for the high beam out )
Confirming with a meter at the headlamp would be a good idea, before spending the money.

The bulb connector has 3 pins.
Black wire is ground on both sides
Light Green w/ Black stripe wire is high beams on both sides
Driver Lo = Dark Blue w/ white stripe
Pass Lo = Dark Green w/ Orange stripe.

1st check the bulb, also the sensor on the transfer case selector motor that turns on the bulb may be defective, check the plug at the transfer case for water or a poor connection if the buld for the indicator checks good
