fails USA smog or Canada, can we know this?
no to smog stations are the same USA FED or CALIF are different as is all other countries.
2005 to present made,
no VIN or engine told. and smog is big time on ENGINE types.
U3fff is using a useless scanner for this car.
use only 2008 and newer scan tools
the tool (no toy code readers Your vehicle uses a CAN bus network for communications and any scan tool used to do what you are trying needs to be CAN capable.
U3fff (the fff means bad data read) F is hex code 1111b
IT MEANS CAN BUS FAILED.
top cause is tool can not do modern Chrysler DTC codes.
FFF = 1111-1111-1111b
U3 means factory only code.
solutions all
DIY buy a real real scan tool 2008 or newer.
get it scanned in a real shop
barrow the tool ,buy one or rent one.
some shops do it for free ASK EM/
some store do it for free but 1/2 the time fail or reasons stated above. wrong tool used.
scan tool can_bus certified + Chrysler too.
thank for reply to advisory message most likely the belt has rotted/slipped fff with oil contamination ?? however if oil leak can be found 1st ?? fix it before you renew belt do not drive vehicle till problem is sorted out or you will suffer serious $$$$$s in repairs probably to cyl/head gasket failure due to overheating ?
