You sure its the transmission? Wheezing sound is usually the catylitic converter becoming plugged. Also...at 3-5K rpm you are not idling, you are reving the engine...(in that case, trans may be slipping or flairing between shifts, unless the unit is staying in one gear and just delaying shift till you reach that rpm. actual shift point should be close to 2,000rpm) I'd check the cat first.

Low transmisson fluid, Transmission filter or faulty transmission pump, the pump usually will whine before it goes out tho, Im leaning towards the filter or low fluid. Check your transmission control selonoid.

Idle speed is really high when started or too low

If this is for your Mighty Max truck, the problem could be the idle air control valve. The computer controls the idle speed by regulating how much air enters the throttle body thru the valve.

When im driving, the car will lose all pull and though i am in drive, the rpm's will race and the speed will drop, then it may catch and then other times, it will not go back in geat

It sounds like transmission. When the transmission begins to be sluggish. You can push the gas and the rpm will rise, but the car will not go anywhere or gain speed. Check the transmission fluid level to make sure it is at the appropriate level. If it is low, fill to proper level. This should make it go into gear better.

98 lincoln navigator loud noise, shaking, high rpm at idle, drive

I don't know how much oil you had to put in but it sounds like you have maybe more than opne issue and both sound major. One is engine reving and speed not picking up sounds like trans problem. Two the engine shaking and making noise and being run low on oil leans toward possible engine damage. If your mechanicly inclined check all fluids and when checking trans fluid smell it. If it smells burnt the trans has been damaged. Check oil pressure and make sure coolant is full. You may have to take it into the shop.
