I had the very same problem with my 94 tracker and it turned out to be something simple. My check engine light had popped on after it had hit 100,000. I went through all of the suggestions that people had suggested (unplug battery......etc) and still to no avail. Searching the internet, I came across a website called suzukiforum.com and there, this guy was able to help me with my problem. It turned out to be a maintenance switch that kicks on every 50,000 miles. This switch is like a secret that the auto manufactures use to ploy owners of their cars to bring to the dealer and then rack up the dollars in unnecessary "repairs". The switch is located under the dash and can be hidden anywhere. From the assistance of the guy on the forum, he was able to send me photos of this damn switch and possible locations where it may be mounted. I found mine in about 5 minutes, where it was attached to the steering column. It's a tiny switch, that you slide up or down, depending on what position it is in upon finding it. If it's up, then slide it in the down position and visa versa. Once you do this, the check engine light will go off. Make sure you do not have the car running and you can even unhook one of the battery posts, just to make sure you don't hit anything while rooting around under the dash. Good luck!

Can you post the pictures or give further detail. I have looked everywhere and can't find the damn thing. Even mechanics don't know where it is. I really could use some help...thanks

I wish I had seen this article before I bought a replacement ECM. I found the switch and it did exactly what the article said. I was really upset when I put the new ECM in and the check engine light was still on and was getting ready to bring it to repair shop and would probably have been soaked for at least $60 just to look at it. Suzuki Forum is definitley a good place to look up problems before spending money.

Unhook the negative battery cable for a few minutes to clear the codes. The light will come back on the next time you drive it if you didn't fix what was wrong with it.

Engine light on and I do not know how to bring up the engine codes on my 1995 geo tracker how do you bring up the engine codes?

You would need to have a scanning tool connected to the diagnostic port of the car. Some shops would let your borrow theirs. The tools should then bring up the error codes.

Try replacing your brake light switch that is located at the top of the brake pedal arm. It might work if you wiggle or shake the switch but most likely you will have to replace the switch. good luck leave comment.

Reset Check engine light on 1993 Geo Tracker without scan tool.

A 1993 Tracker will have OBD1 technology. Just unplug the battery for 5minutes and plug it back in. If the light persists You will have to find out and repair the problem that your cars computer believes it has.

Four wheel drive will not work on 1995 geo tracker

You need to take the cover off your hub and clean and grease the lock ring. It is attached to the spring. It sounds as though your hub is rusted open.
