Temperature gauge When I drive and press accelerator, my temperature gauge goes down. Does anybody knows what is going on? Thanks.

    Checked the coolant, oil and sensor, everything looks okay.

    Thermostat was replaced two years ago, radiator one year ago, the problem started two days ago. Is it possible that temperature sensor is getting bad?

    I'm at work, so I didn't get to pulling and disconnecting cables yet.

    I have no problem with horse power, but I think in the last four or so weeks my fan is working a little bit longer after I stop and turn off engine then before, but I could be wrong.

    Bit fast checking that. How is the fan doing?

    Intermittent electrical or still belt?

    How is the horse power? same?

    check oil and coolant. Anything grey, levels ok.

    connectors on gauge still seated properly.

    Element still ok on engine

    after 15 minutes of drive the temperature goes high , when pushing gas to 3000 k it goes down again ,

I have a Daihatsu terios kid 2002 Motor fan not operating temperature gauge is normal about center of the gauge
The fan only operates when the engine/coolant temperature exceeds the thermostatically controlled fan. At idle observe the dash engine temperature and fan. Before the gauge reads above normal the fan should operate.

My daughter has a 95 Ford Escort Wagon. The temperature gauge either does not work at all or it bounces back and forth with acceleration or deceleration. The gauge goes up when you accelerate and it goes...
connector may be loose at the temperature sensor. connector should be snug on the sensor. If necessary, bend the terminals carefully to make firm contact. If this does not solve the problem, you may want to replace the sensor. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Teampreature gauge not working
Sounds like you have installed a 'over-temperature switch' type sender unit- this type of sensor is only meant to control an over-temperature alarm indicator lamp that is either 'on' or 'off'.

The temperature gauge requires a 'variable resistance type' temperarure sensor to control the meter deflection.
When cold the temperature sensor is of high resistance, hence less meter deflection;
when hot temperature sensor is of low resistance, hence more meter deflection.

You need to procure a matching sensor to suit the type of gauge installed.

Is it possible you have connected to the temperature wrong temperature sensor? - most vehicles are fitted with both a gauge type (variable resistance) sensor to drive the temperature gauge, as well as a switch type (on or off) sensor to drive the overtemp indicator light.

Temperature Gauge Always On Cold
As long as your gauge is still moving up, there's no real problem. You have heat coming from the heater. It's only a problem if it's getting too hot. What's going on is that you don't let the vehicle run long enough, and it's so cold outside that the engine stays cold. It raises in temp when your stopped because there's no airflow through the radiator. The thermostat just heats up the engine block, and won't change the reading on the gauge. When this goes bad your car will overheat in just a few miles.

Erratic Dash Temperature Gauge Readings
assuming there is nothing wrong with the water pump, it may be the sending unit is going bad, or it could also be the thermostat going out. it is more likely that the t-stat is the problem as it is the erratic behaviour of the guage inside that is the concern.
