Yes, the security alarm and immobilizer need resetting. The problem is, because it is a Holden there isn't much on Google because I am in Canada. This link may work better for you than me. The chip in the key, and the transponder need to be recognized by the ECM and Security System Module.
I don't know the prescribed answer but just wanted to mention such resetting procedures that were common in the early days of computerised vehicles have largely been replaced in the change from obd1 to obd2 by a requirement to use diagnostic equipment.
