remove the trim around the radio. that goes down to the cup holders. take it out by removing the screws. and wires

it sounds like a faulty sending unit the only way to know for sure is to install a mechanical gauge and measure pressure. or just replace the sender. it is not wise to drive it and just assume it is nothing major. if it is a mechanical problem will cost a lot more if you lock the engine up
