Hi, my 1994 Mustang won't start. No spark. I rebuilt my engine and after reinstalling it won't fire (no spark). Replaced CCRM(Crankshaft Sensor), Ignition module, and still nothing. It has blown the fuse for "EEC" a couple of times. I looked all over the engine for some wire shorting out. Still nothing, HELP!

You must check the module for moisture or bent pins or not tight enough what size motor is it and who did the rebuild also please try to be more specific right now I don't know what you have in it as a motor and is it a swap from an 6-8 or is it 5.0-4.6 ?

I noticed you replace the crankshaft sensor, but not the CAMshaft sensor.
The Ignition module takes the input of both sensors to tell the coil when to energize.
This sensor should come up as an error code when you attach a obd reader.
Even if your light is not on - there may be a code. If it is not your vehicle originally, some people pull the bulb!

SOURCE: Ford EEC-IV Ignition Problem

if you have a set of noid lights check for injector pulse if you do not have pulse and no spark you have a bad pick up (hall effect sensor) inside the distributor this also would account for your prior problem with your timing because this pick- up (hall effect sensor) if it starts to short internally can effect ignition timing and missfires and also for the voltage changes

Did you check for fuel pressure, if not have it checked, you didnt mention the crankshaft pick up sensor.

Sparkplugs are not firing on my 2004 Mustang 4.6 engine. What are common causes?

Test crankshaft positioning sensor. Also, I have seen the key shear on the harmonic balancer causing everything to be out of time. Are you sure there's no spark; or is it maybe sparking at the wrong time?

Serpentine belt broke and replaced. Now engine will turn over but not start.

Hello Melissa.

When the belt broke it most likely damaged the crankshaft position sensor.
The sensor is mounted at the harmonic balancer pulley.
This sensor sends a signal to the ignition to tell it when to fire the spark plugs. Without this signal the spark will not take place and your engine will not start.
It will likely need replacement
If you could tell me which engine came in your Cougar I will be able to give you more specific information.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Went over a speed bump lost power.now won"t start.engine turns over but no spark.ckecked sensor plug-all ok

Not sure which sensor you are referring to but I would check the crankshaft sensor which is located in the transmission bellhousing where it meet the engine. It is adjustable and it could have come loose. The sensor "reads" a tone wheel that is part of the flywheel. If the gap is to wide it cant read the tone wheel and output to the computer the proper signal to fire the coil.

1993 jeep cherokee. Can't get spark out of coil.

Check the Crankshaft Position sensor. Usually it will reveal itself through the check engine codes. If this is faulty, the coil will not get the signal it needs to fire.

Fuel pump location and replacement

You are looking for the constant control relay module- ( CCRM ) see below. The pump will be located inside the fuel tank. Most of the time , its the pump and not the relay but, it wouldn't hurt to check the relay out. Teh relay is housed in the CCRM. Its located behind the engine coolant reservoir.
