How To Install Replace Engine Serpentine Belt Volkswagen Beetle 1AAuto.com ... Well, the serpentine belt on my Bugbroke. And, didnt know ...
most have a long bolt behind and you loosen of the centre nut so that the bolt behind can move the shaft
ON some v6 engines the tensioner is spring mounted and there is a 1/2 square drive in the front or the bracket
get a long handled 1/2 " strong bar, put the square in the hole and lift the pulley off the belt
Hi there , there should be a adjuster on the alternator, unless it's a serpentine belt, if a serpentine belt then you will need a new tension bled idler, hope this helps.
your belt diagram is either posted on the underside of the hood or a yellow or white sticker w/your diagram every car has one unless its too old like 70s old or the sticker has come off
You don't need one. Get a T belt from toyota. It has 3 white lines on it and and arrow mark. 2 lines are solid and one is broken. Put the arrow facing away from the engine. The cam gears have a dot punched into them near a certain tooth. This is where the solid white lines will line up with. The crank gear will have a dot also. It will line up at 90 degrees from the top, towards the front of the car. This is where the broken line will match up with. With the belt installed with all lines on their proper dots and arrow away from the engine, you valve timming is correct. Of course you need to remove and compress the tensioner also. I assume you know this already since you didn't ask.
if the belt is loose you might have the wrong belt installed on, or the serpentine belt tensioner must to be replaced, they adjust automatic, with spring loaded belt tensioner
and i will apreciate the ranking to my answer thanx
It is self adjusting.
