2000 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 rough idle, acceration rough, too much fuel? idle steadys out if remove vaccumm hose off intake , played with timing, changed crank sensor, plugs, fuel pump ok, idle air control good, regulator good need help suspect fuel injectors but the check gauge light turns on and there is no engine codes
This what I think is happening. Your engine is running rich because the ECM thinks it has too much air and so injects more fuel. When you now introduce air, by taking th e vacuum line off, the fuel mixture is now more balanced. Have you cleaned your MAF sensor? Also make sure your engine coolant is full.

Check PCV valve and be sure it is not stuck open. Check for vacuum leak at intake manifold.

remove the coil pack and look at bottom of it if it shows any cracks coil is bad very common on these vans if you have a noid light check for injector pulse on #4 if you have pulse and good blue spark most likely the injector is bad you have to remove upper plenum to get injectors out let me know how you make out

Have you checked the coolant temp sensor. They also have something called a MAP(manifold absolute pressure) sensor that could be causing this issue. This sensor will have a 4 pin connector and 1 vacuum line going to it. Should be on the firewall, just behind the engine.
