it sounds like a faulty sending unit the only way to know for sure is to install a mechanical gauge and measure pressure. or just replace the sender. it is not wise to drive it and just assume it is nothing major. if it is a mechanical problem will cost a lot more if you lock the engine up

look under car at the rear where gas tank is, you should see 2 or 3 small metal lines coming down from thr front of the tank, then you can follow those to the engine.
IF you are looking for a fuel filter that is external, like the older cars have, forget it. The filter is part of the fuel pump, which is located IN the fuel tank. You would need to remove the pump to replace the filter, I haven't had to do that yet but you "may" be able to access it by removing the carpet in the rear to see if there is a access panel that you can remove to get to the top of the pump.
Prices for the complete pump, which may need replacing, at Napaonline.com lists at $464, you can find the same pumps on Ebay for around $100, give or take a few $.
Someone should have just the filter but since you have to remove the pump to get to it, it may be a good idea to replace the complete pump, as these cars were not the best made, they do start having problems at or before 50,000 miles.
Also, see Q on timing belt replacement, they can/do break after/before that milage also, when they break the engine is usually worthless, replace it now and every 40K or 50K after that for your own sake, see the link I posted for that procedure.

If the fuel filter is mounted inside the fuel tank at the pump it does not need replacing and is a permanent filter. All you have to do it follow the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the engine. If the filter is mounted in the fuel line you will find it.
