85 Vic,5.0,CFI,..Was driving home from work (about 25mi) when I got about 4blks from home, she started missing and died. I restarted but it ran rough and died again.I parked it and walked home, had it towed home. I had an EGR valve issue about 10 yrs ago and it acted a lot like this.. It will restart but miss and die again. Won't idle at all. Ran codes and only hard code was 88. That would be throttle kicker on this model. I don't doubt that it is bad but I can't see how it would cause this..I took off EGR valve and blocked intake with old starter shim and reinstalled EGR blocked vacuum line & disconnected EGR sensor..Fired it up, got the same. I've got a new O2 sensor but I have not installed it yet. MAP sensor tests good. Throttle position sensor tests good. EGR sensor tests good.Suggestions?

I had the same problem with My 1990 F150 300 6cylinder 4x4.....I cahnged all the same things you did, finally I sprayed a can of Gumout through the throttle body and it worked and ran great. Now I add fuel injector cleaner to the gas and a regular clean with the gumout and the problem has'nt come back. Good Luck to you and hope it works!

silly question, however did you check the air box for nests. it is not uncommon for rodents to climb in and make themselves at home. i would also say to get a maf from ford. check ALL around the engine compartment and underneath for evidence of rodents and their leavings. youll be very suprised what you may find.cheers
