Thanks for the advice, let me ask you one more question ok maybe two. When I drive down the highway it stays cool it is when I am idling it gets hot. If the stat is bad would it still stay cool driving down the road? And if I check it with the wires will I need to buy new connectors for the stripped wires?

Fan comes on when a certin temp is met.check the fan motor it self by straight wiring the fan motor with the engine off. do this by finding the wires to the fan motor and stripping the wires back and connecting the wires to the battery one to hot and one to ground if the fan comes on you have a thurmstat problem.if it dont come on the fan is bad

in this condition, it may be your water pump. pump does not circulate the water when you idle.also check your radiator cap,if checking fan just skin the wire just enough to touch inside wire and then just tape the wire

yes it will keep the temp down when you are moving. you do not need connetors just electical tape if you just skin the wire enough to touch the inside of the wire

Cherokee ac blower fuse

Its not the fan motor. That would blow a different fuse. IT could be the compressor clutch that is shorting out.

Heater/ac switch won't turn on fan? Checked

Always start at both ends of the problem...check for blown fuses, then hot wire the blower motor. If both check out as good, move to the next items...switch on dash and resistor, then relay. Very likely one of those items have failed.

My 2004 Jeep Cheokee loredo is running hot. Could

Could be several things,

1. thermostat
2. water pump
3. fan motor is bad (is the fan running when at temp?)
4. fan motor relay

Is it running hot all the time or just when setting idle?

Radiator fan not working replaced relay, temp switch and fuse fan works if hot wired it's on a 2001 jeep grand cherokee

Check the wiring from the relay to the fan motor, and check the wiring from the fuse block. Basically check all wires that supply power to the fan motor, use a volt meter. Fan Relay (behind headlight, under battery) on the 2001 GC 4.0L are a piece of ****, I change mine almost yearly. The problem is their location, a high heat area prone to the elements. I understand that 2002 and newer, the location was changed and the problem solved. Relay might close the circuit when cold or at reasonable temps, but might open a circuit when it heats up, causing the problem.

2002 jeep cherokee laredo

the only problem that vehicle has is with cooling fans is relay/module or electrical harness to module that burns up located behind and under right front headlamp assy must remove headlamp to access relay/module that is what powers up fan motor module assy.
