Keep blowing fuse for rear taillights and dashboard lights
Sometimes the dash lights start flashing on and off, then the fuse blows. Or when i turn on the rear wiper the taillight fuse blows (same fuse for tailight and dash lights ).
Re: keep blowing fuse for rear taillights and dashboard...
Sounds like loose wires. Had a similar problem with my 03 Durango. Kept blowing fuses when I put them in. Came to find out my trailer wiring harness had fried and was shorting out.

fuses blow because of dead shorts or excess current draw
to blow a 15 amp fuse indicates a dead short
by disconnecting the rear lights , the problem is in something else you have replaced
could be a problem in the head light wiring
check the parking light fuse or taillight fuse to make sure it has not blown. replace it if it has blown and see if the lights work or if the fuse blows again. if it blows when you turn the lights on then you have a short circuit that needs repaired. if the fuses are good ,then most likely the headlight switch is bad not allowing the taillights or dash lights to work.
1.Unplug your taillights at the sockets and the front running lights from sockets.
2. put in new fuse after unplugging taillights.
3 turn on taillights if fuse blows then the wiring is grounding out somewhere between the switch, fuse panel, and rear and or front parking lights.
4.If fuse does not blow then plug in one socket at a time keep rechecking fuse. when the fuse blows after plugging in a certain socket suspect that one to be bad and replace.
The taillights are commonly connected to the dash light circuit ( so you can be aware when they do not work ). Start with the fuse box. Read carefully for the correct fuse to change. Sometimes they have a strange name associated with them. Turn the lights off before you change the fuse otherwise they may blow even if the circuit is OK. If it blows again you need to look further to find a shorted wire. ( Most likely in the boot, near the taillights, a wire has been crushed or damaged.
Yes, the timing of the start of the problem indicates it's something that happened then. It could be a wire on the assembly was pinched or covering damaged by a screw holding it in place. How quickly did it blow the 1st replaced fuse? Let me know how u make out.
it sounds like who ever hooked up the remote starter may have crossed wires I would recommend takeing it back to who installed the remote starter and have them look to make sure something is not crossed in the system
