I had a similiar problem, found the solution there. It was the wiring harnes on the drivers side under the hood, just above the wheel well. there are a cluster of wires in a bundle. I unpacked the bundle carefuly and sure enough the were two or three wires all coroded, had wite powder from corosion. repaired the connections and bingo. I posted details at dodgeforums.com. browse around there. I posted pictures as well. this is a common problem.

sounds like the distributor may be faulty and the timing is out.try moving the distributor.loosen off the lock bolt on the base and move it slightly.mark the original spot first. The other thing is make sure the plugs are the right type.platinum plkugs will not run in some engines.
the spark gap for the 5.2 is on the label under the hood.

check the starter relay, most likely a loose connection...

most likely is the pick up coil in the distributor. easy to replace pull dist cap off and rotor button and there it is.
